I can see it opening around $100 million + We are forgetting the female factor here and date night. Anecdotal I know but even my girlfriend wants to see this because of her remembering Wonder Woman when she was a little girl years ago. I think there is a huge nostalgia factor here as well.

Wonder Woman in the DC Universe for me is like Captain American in Marvel Universe as my second favorite character overall.

The 5 minute ovation was from WB execs and was, I believe, from an early cut of the movie. Not the abomination(or Doomsday) we saw in theaters.

I do hope this movie is good though. I mean, it's Wonder Woman with a female director. How else can you mess that up?

The early comments about Wonder Woman have me excited. Building hype!

I just think that $100 million plus is a big estimate for a solo film of a character that hasn't really had a lot of screen time and really isn't that in the public eye. She's a known character but I just find it a bit hard to believe but if the film is as good as we're being led to believe hopefully it does well and DC takes a cue from it with their films going forward.

I think people are underestimating the female demo (of all ages). Plenty of, anecdotal for sure, stories of mothers taking their daughters. I'm personally predicting about $105-110M OW.

60's seems way to low to me, so I'm down with the 90+ estimate, if not higher if reviews are good. I agree about the female factor, coupled with Supergirl on TV I'm seeing a lot of girl superhero merch lately.

I would think $65-$80 million or so would be about right. That seems about average. As far as the female demographic goes that hasn't always helped other female led genre films and this is really the first major test so there's not much to base it on.

I say Wonder Woman is more of a superhero figure than a Female role model. I don't see many women if any buying her comics every month, just the same nerds (myself included)

I saw a few cards like this for Mother's Day recently.

What about fathers taking daughters? I'm a unabashed comic book nerd and a father of 3 girls. My daughter is excited to see this, and I'm excited to take her to it, and I hope it's good. Little girls deserve big screen role models like this.

It's because of Rey that I was able to get my daughter into Star Wars, and that's awesome.

I'm taking my daughter to this too. High time she got to see herself as the lead in a superhero pic. And shameful that it took this long.

She was kind of adopted as a pop culture icon by feminists in the 1960s and 1970s. They really never had read the comics but her appearance seeped into pop culture by merchandising and the TV show.

Jennifer Garner is sad to read that.

But yeah, would be a great movie for fathers and daughters. Point taken.

Hell, as great as it would be for him to be part of it, George Miller is a producer on Justice League but doubt he ever stepped on the set (likely a hold-over from the scrapped Justice League: Mortal project).

I never knew that. It's surprising because Schumacher's vision of Batman is WAY different then Burton's.

Hopefully very little, which will be the difference.

Snyder also has a "Story by" credit on WW as well so we'll see.

Yeah, I can't quite remember the reason, but I'd guess it was contractual. He had little to nothing to do with the project.

Dc has really been pushing the Superhero Girls line too, featuring Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl and (for whatever reason) Harley, among others, as high school teens (there are boys like Flash and Hal Jordan, but it's definitely aimed at girls). All the nerds who have daughters need some kind of fallback.

Because she's really popular. Not sure about how much, but she was the big reason Suicide Squad was successful.

All the traditional heroes and villains are friends on SuperHero Girls. Poison Ivy is also one of the leads.

I think I'll skip watching any other marketing material for the next 2 weeks. Close enough anyway.
