Re: Promotional Comics - cereal boxes, etc
My wife got two boxes of cereal yesterday (my family eats a lot of cereal) and I ended up with #2 & 3. The collection is complete!
Thanks for the offer, Trevor. You're still welcome to my extra #1 and #4 if you need them.
Now to finish off the Justice League books from a few years back.

I might take you up on that #1 depending on my next haul.
And on the 2011 editions, I have some reserved for Dimension X, but will likely have some extras there too.

All I have is 2 copies of #3. I need to go shopping again and see if something besides Trix came in.
Plus, I want to buy a box or two of the Civil War cereal, so maybe I'll go to Walmart tomorrow.
The only one I need from the last set was the target exclusive (#5, I think).
After Trevor finds out which issue he needs, I'll have one copy of each of the remaining issues that I'll be happy to send out to anyone who needs them.

I have a ton of the #2s and #4s. I think I'm going to send one of each to David so he has to start collecting them.

I have one copy of #1, 1 copy of #3 and I am looking to get 1 copy of #2 and #4 of the Batman vs. Superman set.
I am also always looking for Cereal comic book premiums and chips, soda pop fastfood, etc. Hologram card sets etc. And thing and everything.
I even heard that Gail Simone wrote a Superman vs. Pepsi comic but I cannot find nothing about it online.

Re: Promotional Comics - cereal boxes, etc
I finally got the issue of this set that I was missing. I hadn't seen any boxes with the comics for about a month and a half, but I stopped in a Walmart today and saw some, so I bought two and got lucky.
I almost bought a box of Justice League Pop Tarts, but Walmart wanted more for them than I felt like paying, and I had just bought some Pop Tarts a few days back. I'll wait for a sale or a coupon.
Man, looks like I'm really late to the party. The internet tells me those Pop Tarts have been out for months. Maybe I should've grabbed a box before they disappear.

I'm surprised you didn't buy them when they came out. I have one copy of each of the eight, plus the Marvel bubble gum comics set from the same time. (Google tells me I missed two Archie comics out of that set. Pretty sure that was intentional.)
Dude, that's 35 year old candy. Of course you want to eat it.
Be sure and record yourself eating it and have your next of kin post the video.

But maybe they were regional? Or maybe just in stores a season or two? It might have been the year I was heavy into D&D and put comics on the back burner.

Re: Promotional Comics - cereal boxes, etc
I don't remember buying them, so I can't tell you where or when exactly they were sold. Various places on the internet say 1980 and/or 1981. I'm sure I only bought them because they came out when I got back into comics, so it could be that the comic shop I went to back then sold them. I have no idea how much they cost. I only bought what I needed to get a set, since I didn't have much to spend. I probably picked up all 8 at once.
I have the 8 issues inside one of the plastic bags they came in along with an empty candy bag (which is how I identified who put them out - so points to me for realizing I'd never remember something like that 35 years later).
I just took a quick look at a couple to confirm, it's new material. Since the pages are small, most have just a few panels.

There's a Suicide Squad mini-comic inside specially marked boxes of Splat hair dye. Luckily, my daughter dyes her hair all the time so I grabbed a box.

I went in to a Wal-Mart last night, and they have 16 packs of Pop-Tarts with a mini-comic inside. The box says there are two titles, two parts each, "Only at Wal-Mart." I saw strawberry and brown sugar cinnamon, but there could be others.
I couldn't find a picture of the boxes, but here's what the comics look like.

I think I ended up with only one complete set (of 4) out of about 30 comics. It was crazy how often I kept getting two of them specifically.
I need to find the various piles of them and see how I can help you a finish sets.

I finished 1 set so I'm good. I have a few doubles but I can't remember which issues they were. I'll have to check at home. I also have a stack of extra Free Comic Book Day titles that I'm planning on handing out on Halloween.

New promo mini comics in Pop Tarts, Walmart only. I bought two boxes and of course got the same comic. Pictures this weekend.
