So I'm playing this morning and I realize just how much they lifted from Destiny.

Drop you down into a hub with vendors and other players. Check.

Leave the Tower to play a mission and have the game crash. Check.

Well, I guess that is a little different. Destiny just disconnects me from Destiny. Division hard crashed when I left the safe zone to start my first mission.

I played last night and like it....not straight out shooter, commerce & loot system for now seems good and the setting, environment, weather and day & night cycle really adds to it. I plan on getting it....

However my friend playing along last night wasn't sold quite yet. Her complaint was the pace. She plays a lot of Destiny...or did and we're playing Dying Light so yea the pace is different and even the loot & commerce is. But the Devs did stress there is more an RPG element in the game than probably most thought or expected.

I've played through the alpha on XB1 and now the beta on PS4 and still not feeling it. It just feels generic and underwhelming. The weapons, armor, loot, etc. Even the shooting feels off to me.

Played it for about 20 minutes last night and deleted it. For whatever reason, it just didn't click with me.

I'm leaning on getting it. It's not a true "Shooter" in the means like maybe COD and Destiny even and yes the pace is slower but the RPG...commerce, loot and resource element is far more deeper with an abundant of choices on what to buy and spend on. And so far it looks like you really have to look and it's not everywhere.

We haven't touched Dark Zone yet but a few friends have and their take has been a mixed bag. Basically don't go in alone. Players wait for others to grab stuff and then pop them for their loot. And apparently getting on the helicopter with your stash is not that easy with everyone taking you out. The "Team" emphasis is heavily needed in both areas.

I can see the possibilities of further DLC down the road and see what type of modes they might instill to keep the game going . We haven't seen or used a great deal of parts of the game so the jury is out on that.

I played the beta and loved it... the DZ stuff might turn people off... but then again, it will force you to make new friends. Overall, people respected when you called the helicopter to drop loot off. I am liking the group feature and for the most part the solo aspect.

I played through the missions on Xbone. I thought it was a lot of fun. I didnt venture to the dark zone

I liked Destiny too... just wish it was on PC.

Maybe we can make a separate Division topic with tags from people playing that looking to group up. =)

I'm very curious to see how well this one is reviewed. Unless the single player story stuff is absolutely amazing, I don't see this one hanging around for long.

Destiny has had a lot of legs, so this could too given that there aren't a lot of options in the MMO FPS market right now.

this is a game i preordered with BB to get discount + $10 in RZ credit. i was going to wait on reviews to determine if i would cancel or keep it. now i guess i wait for it to come out before i make that decision.

I'm getting the Gold Edition thru Best Buy. Just seems a better deal and plus getting the 20% off, $10 certificate and I have a $27 gift card it's a gimme. How the game grows is anyone guess but I got a feeling it'll have more to do like collect, build, maintain, protect than Destiny.


I went by today to do a late pre-order at BB and they were showing all taken...the thing is the person helping said, "sorry...we're showing "All Six" Gold Editions sold and taken". I'm thinking to myself...WTH...six Gold Editions...

I came home and looked BB online and it's showing "Coming Soon". The thing is I bet it'll be like Destiny, pop up with a few and then Sold Out in seconds, then coming soon, rinse and repeat.

I assume no deals if buying digital copies? I went with disc for Destiny, but all the DLC has been digital.

Can get a key for the Gold edition from GamesPlanet for about $75. They are an approved seller.

Yeah, that should read "MMO Shooter" as opposed to Elder Scrolls Online which is an "MMO RPG". I think this is much closer to Destiny.

Except this isn't an MMO at all. Sure it's online, but there's nothing "massively" multiplayer about it.

It looks like I can get the "normal" version at Best Buy still but I cannot figure out if you still get the "Bonus" like the Hazmat Suit and Rifle? Also can you get the season pass either retail or digital?

Yea...it was up a few days ago and said shipping only then. I came close to doing it but I won't get it till Friday. I'm still trying to find an answer to the Season pass being added later but with the Gamers Club, getting the $10 cert, 20% off and with a $27 GC I'll just get the normal and hope for something later.

Sort of reminds me of when Destiny came out and they had that S.E and BB didn't have enough then either and had them scrambling to meet demand. And at the store the other day when the salesrep said, "yea...we're showing all six already taken" I was sort of stunned...Six? We've got to go shopping for a new stove and might run in and just talk to someone again. Just cannot believe after so many did the beta that everyone didn't think about carrying more Gold versions.
