"The Human Division" By John Scalzi, 4th in a series. I never thought I'd get through it. After 2 great books (Old Mans War, The Ghost Brigades) and a third very good one (The Last Colony), comes this terrible follow on. It's the first of a two part set. I won't be buying the second one.

Re: What's the last book you bought?

I haven't bought a physical book in awhile unless it's graphic novel trade paperback or a Percy Jackson series book (I collect them to go besides my Harry Potter collection). I recently bought the ebook of Caraval by Stephanie Garber. It has good reviews and it was on sale on Amazon for $2.99

Re: What's the last book you bought?

I'd been tracking the price of this at Amazon ever since I read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, finally went down from $15 to $9.52 (no idea for how long), jumped on it (hardcover edition)...

What did you think of Mindhunter by John Douglas? It was great when it was new, but I wonder if it's stood up over time.

For True Crime fans, I think the book is still solid but better books have been written on the subject since.

I've read a lot of reviews of readers digging into this the first time after watching the Netflix adaptation recently. A good amount mention not being able to get past John Douglas' ego via the narrative.

Re: What's the last book you bought?

I finally dove into the Library digital lending during the pandemic, and I have probably only bought 2 books this past year only because I was too impatient to wait.

Nothing beats a good book in your hands, but with the amount of travel I do for work, Im pretty much 100% kindle at this point and now that I discovered the library again, I dont see myself buying much of anything moving forward.
