What are you reading? (May 2012)

Finished :

It was my first erotic/romance book i've read. It does get very graphic but I didn't care much for the main character. She uses the same expletives over and over and constantly talking about her inner goddess. I think it's geared towards Women mainly. Of all the books i've read this year it's probably the worst i've read.

Re: What are you reading? (May 2012)

Did not finish:

Jack Kerouac's On the Road.

I may finish yet but good gravy I don't recall the last time I read a book with so many characters that needed to be grabbed by the shoulders and shaken vigorously.

I'm about 75% of the way through it and not sure if it's worth it going on. Mind you, the writing is really good, I just don't care for the story, or the protagonists.

Now reading:

Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian. This would be the 5th McCarthy book I've read, and the fourth one this year.

Just finished and enjoyed:

Now I'm getting ready to watch Touch of Evil - the film adaption - which I've never seen before.

Still reading, but kind of a let down:

It is the worst Nero Wolfe book I've read.

Started:

Copyright 1898, republished in book form in the early 1920s. It's neat watching the social and technological differences in different times. The Nick Carter book I read before this one was written in 1906, and Nick had a telephone in his house but pursued the bad guys through New York City on horseback.
