For those who ordered directly from TTG, they've had difficulties getting the game up on their site today, and are emailing out Steam codes if you want to download it tonight.

Pretty cool of them. However they said that the Steam version is buggier than the build they plan on releasing on their site. I'm sure they'll update the Steam version at some point soon too though.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
Is this Steam code just for episode one or is it the whole season? If it's the whole season, I'll probably just donate it to the 8BB charity raffle later this year and wait on the TTG version. If its just episode one, I'll just redeem it and play.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
How long did it take to complete?
I wish there was a season pass-type option on XBL, but doesn't look like there's going to be one. I'd like to play this right away, but I also know that it'll be discounted later on (whether individually or as a bundle).

Hey guys, I'm only watching the television show and haven't read any of the comics. Does the game spoil anything that may show up on future seasons of the show? Thanks

2-3 hours for the first play-through, but there are several decision points that affect the story, so I suspect most people will try going through it at least twice.No. Indeed, the show is so loosely adapted from the comics that it's impossible to know what they'll adapt and what they won't. The game itself is set in the comics universe, but it's a new side story rather than an adaption of events in the comics.

I played through BTTF because I enjoyed the story, but as an adventure game it was pretty boring at times...because the puzzles were so ridiculously easy. In many situations, the solution was in plain site of the problem. In others, multiple puzzles were solved the exact same way (which actually stumped me at first since that's something that almost never happens in adventure games..."surely that won't work AGAIN").

Thanks, Groucho. I'm going to download the demo when I get home.

Absolutely... I grew up playing The Dig, Maniac Mansion, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, etc... but I either grew out of the genre or BTTF under-delivered on my expectations. I just couldn't get in to it.

Yup. And no subscription discount on XBLA like there is on PSN. Because on XBLA, you can't pay in advance for future content... except DLC packages. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
If I get it at all, I'll get it with a discount on PS Plus or Steam.

OTOH, if you don't pay full retail price for your MS points (I assume that applies to most on this forum) even at 2000 points the Xbox version may be the cheapest way to play through the series.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
Is there a hub menu for this game that all the episodes will be accessible within? If so, I don't see why it can't work just like a season pass. Not that it matters since it's wishful thinking.

Within the PC version, there's a complete interface to access any of the episodes all as one executable. Not sure if Xbox will work the same way, but it's certainly possible.

Yes there is. When you start the game you can hit r1 and l1 to scroll through the episodes.

Episode 1 is essentially the game on the 360, and future episodes are DLC within that game. That's how Microsoft has to structure it for some reason.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
That's how they all are, if you mean the game is pretty much just a launcher for all the episodes. It's the exact same on PC and PS3
Each episode is probably going to use a lot of assets from the first episode (zombies, main characters, supporting characters you don't let die, etc) so in essence the first episode IS the game and the rest are expansions.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)
EDIT: Does this mean the trophies are combined too, and if so, does that mean we can get a platinum for this title? It kinda pissed me off that they put out a disc based version of BTTF with a platinum trophy after I already bought the PSN version.
