Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

I ordered a book with free shipping and got it within a week. First order I have placed with them in over a year.

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

I used to love DDD, but this last time I ordered I had a real bad experience. First I ordered a blu ray with their $5 coupon, it was there until after i pressed check out. The coupon didn't take so I emailed them three times to cancel the order. A few hours later i received three emails from three different people confirming the order was cancelled. Three days later I see the charge hasn't fallen off and they shipped the item anyway. When contacted they said "Our records show we cancelled the order. However, the warehouse did not receive the cancellation." They could not communicate a cancellation in three days? So now, whenever the item show, I can send it back and get a refund. My issue is, they made a mistake and now they want me to take a hour out of my day to send it back to them. Even after I send it back I am not confident they will refund me.

Deep Discount's 10% Off $50 Purchase???

Just received an email from Deep Discount touting a whopping 10% Off a $50 purchase of items from my Wish List. I used to get coupons from them with $5 or $10 off anything from my Wish List, now it's 10% off a $50 purchase??? What kind of lame-assed coupon is that? -kd5-

I guess you've never receieved an offer before that you didn't want.

The complaint is as lame-assed as the comment.

So you feel compelled to start a thread in the Bargains forum to complain about what you feel is a non-bargain.

I'm not the first person who's ever complained about a so-called coupon promotion (and I won't be the last), why you feel the need to castrate me over something that's been done time and time again by many people here is beyond me. The Political Forum seems better suited to your castration techniques. -kd5-

/\ You are a little incorrect, though. People will often reply in a thread, refusing to recognize something as a bargain.

You started a thread about how the discount that you were offered is not the value that you would appreciate. Futhermore, unless the offer is open or available to other users, I don't know why you would post it here.

The castration is justified.

So, anytime anyone starts a thread here complaining about a lame promotion they're automatically labeled an asshole. That's just great... -kd5-

The issue isn't the actual thread itself, kd5. It's the location of the thread. Since this isn't a bargain, it's better suited for the store forum.

It's a bargain. I got my email, I'm going to use it on stuff I was going to buy anyway.

It isn't posted as a bargain, it's posted as a complaint. There isn't any info on how to get the 10%. Is there a coupon code?

So are you happier when a retailer offers you no deal/discount at all?

I wouldn't say "asshole". I think whiny child is more appropriate. You were given an unexpected discount for no reason and all you can think to do is complain instead of being thankful for any discount no matter how small. If you don't want to use it you don't have to. But to complain about it is ridiculous. What is it with this outrageous sense of entitlement some people have?

One where you may or may not get what you order with the coupon, based on how they've been doing orders lately.

Re: Deep Discount's 10% Off $50 Purchase???

Would a moderator or admin please move this thread to the Deep Discount thread in the Store forum, or better yet just delete it altogether? I made a horrible mistake posting this thread, I feel very small for my petty grievance.

Thanks, -kd5-

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

In addition, that Deep Discount sticky from the November sale probably doesn't need to be around.

I'm guessing DD and Shout are both sponsors of this site - there's no other reason for either thread to have even been created, much less stickied.

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

Ha, looking in the DD sticky thread, I noticed that I made a virtually identical post back in December. Well, it still holds true!

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

How can I get DD to stop e-mailing me?

I've tried e-mailing them, calling them, clicking "unsubscribe" dozens of times and I still get e-mails from them almost daily! What else can I do?

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

I dont think so..I used to use them quite a bit but not anymore. The prices are not that competetive anymore and they refused to price match a blu ray set that was cheaper at Amazon

I found the post on their Facebook page:

"email me at [email protected] with the email address that you would like removed"
