There has never been a way to get a free Blu-ray on CH.

At least not since this past February.

rider, you'll have to pay for shipping on the Rambo set, but the shipping will be free for the Criterion.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Ya know... Strangely enough, I'm keeping my final CH account open for times likes this. Free shipping + 40% off on BD titles. If I grab one every now and then, maybe the points will add up for a freebie. Or not.

Ordered Dr. Strangelove for $14.97 - or about $1 more than the current DD sale - but I can use bill me later (edit - and get my purchase without waiting for three weeks). So, no temptation to use the credit card. (and yes, I know about paypal's bill me later but I'm essentially done with paypal).

So, I dunno... Some of the under $12 BDs aren't a bad bargain either with free shipping.

Of course, Dr. Strangelove will be $11.99 on Amazon next week since I've made this post.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I went ahead and placed my first CH order in over 2 1/2 years.
I kept waiting for a BOGO+FS,so I could finally order that RAMBO set I've been wanting, only to learn that there is no free shipping on sets.Oh well.
Managed to get that and Criterion Ruling Class(which I intend to sell to pay for part of RAMBO)for; Subtotal: $23.97

Shipping & Processing: $7.99

Total: $31.96

Not the best CH deal I ever got,but it'll do.

The B1G1F offer seems to not work with $14.97 BDs as the B1. I guess the title purchased has to be $19.95 or more although the terms of the offer don't specify that.

Oh well.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Only been nearly 6 months since I opened my accounts - finally pulled the trigger and ordered using the only b1g1 available now. Getting worried that a b1g1 on BR w/free S&H won't materialize by the time my account is due.

Because you have a pre-order and an in-stock, they will be shipping and billing two separate times. That usually means it won't count as two commitments. However, you never know.

Not neccessarily. Since the free one truly is free(no shipping charge), they might wait to ship it with the pre-order. It's academic because I read another post that CH fixed the BOGO counting as two fulfillments glitch last month.

that's right it's free, $0.00. my theory was that if they ship anything under $19.95 it won't count as fulfillment. when the computer does the separate processing for shipping the movie it will see 1 title at a price under the minimum commitment price. i don't see them holding on to an in-stock title and waiting to ship it with a pre-order. in fact last month I did a B1G1 and they shipped the in-stock title first but the pre-order will go out aug 3. I paid only for the one they shipped after I got it (bill me later method), and the shipping on the pre-order will be due when the the aug 3 one is shipped.

Are the B1G1 codes all dead?

I think so. The one discussed above was a reward code for making a purchase "last month", i.e., in June. Since July has ended, we need to wait for another to emerge.

These codes are becoming rarer, and rarer.

It looks like CH jumped the gun and killed the BOGO code and the site wide free shipping. These promotions were not supposed to expire for another 37 minutes.

Glad it wasn't just me. I've been trying to get the free shipping and had no luck on anything I put in my cart.

Same here. Just tried on my unfulfilled account, which got the FS email, and neither works. Irritating they won't even honor them as long as they promise.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

^^^

The three posts above saying they didn't get the free shipping are all dated Aug 1st. My e-mail about free shipping said this:

"Hurry, this offer is valid until August 1, 2010! The Free Shipping offer applies only to DVDs and Blu-rays. Boxed sets and Merchandise are excluded from this offer."

I took that to mean it expired at 11:59pm Eastern time on July 31st, not that the promotion was valid through Aug. 1st.

I didn't take it to mean anything except what it says. And it says in small white type: "hurry, offer ends 8/1/10 at 11:59 EDT". That's one minute before 8/2 so the code should have worked.

Yeah, the free shipping wouldn't work for me all day Sunday even though they still had the banner advertising it on their site

The e-mail also stated that it was a free shipping weekend. In my neck of the woods, Sunday is considered part of a weekend.

Too bad it doesn't stack with the current 60% off sets offer. I would also accept free shipping. That Twin Peaks set is calling my name at $36 but the $8 for shipping ruins it. $44 is too much for only 2 seasons.

I don't ever recall the 60% off sets offer ever stacking with BOGO offer. It would be sweet if it did, but now a days I would settle with free shipping with BOGO code.

Well, the BOGO code is good until the end of the month. Hopefully CH will have a site wide free shipping weekend in the next couple of weeks.

Where are you finding the 60% off sets offer?

I've checked both my TV and regular accounts, and can't find anything about that.

I haven't seen the 60% off sets either.
