I just hope my PS3 doesn't die as I am in a GameShare group...that would suck.

The PS3 doesn't have a high fatality rate but with the the first generation models you just never know. I bought a slim on black friday and I'm thinking about putting one of my 60s away and using them slim as it makes far less noise, uses less electricity and doesn't generate near the heat as my 60s do.

They did, but it was $20 more, and I would only have recieved a refurbished 60GB unit with a 90 day warranty. I was definately going to loose my saved data either way. Instead, I'm getting a brand new slim with a bigger hardrive dual shock, and a full-warranty.

Thanks for the info. I have a few PS2 games that I picked up when I got a PS3. I guess I could always pick up a PS2 should my current hardware crap out.

EDIT: Hmm, I don't really see many PS2 hardware options on Amazon. Either way, I'm sure Sony will keep the tech available for future use, whether that is another PS2 release or putting PS2 emulation back in PS3 at some future point.

Is anybody else having problems adding funds to your playstation account? I've tried both through the PS3 and on the website but everytime i enter the info it says invalid credit card info. I checked and rechecked and all the info I entered was correct. I tried a few different cards and they are all getting that message.

Mine did that last night, but i didnt bother checking my info and assumed that I had an outdated card in there.

Is there a reputable place online where you can purchase a PSN card and they give you the redemption code instead of waiting to actually physically have the card?

If you can buy it online why can't you just add funds to your account?

Not exactly what you're asking for, but amazon just expanded their PSN store. They still don't have everything, but they do have a lot of the content currently available in the PSN Games store.

The PSN network seems to be having issues since the 4th. Error codes are appearing in the Playstation store under Games, the Whats New Icon and the Playstation Internet Browser. Hopefully, it will get fixed tomorrow.

I bought Colony Wars BECAUSE of my love of Wing Commander. If they do come out via PSN I might have to buy em again.

Anyone looking for PSN cards check out Walmart in the clearance section. Both of mine had them on clearance for $5-$10 off for the $20 cards.

Re: The Official PS3 thread - resolutions are meant to be broken

I finally figured out my video problem! It has to be with my component switch box. Whenever the video goes extremely bright, the signal drops. It's happened during the Clock Tower sequences in Ratchet & Clank and as I watch Lost on Blueray. When I hook the PS3 directly to the TV, the video plays perfectly. I currently use a Psyclone switchbox to switch between the PS3, 360, and Wii. Does anyone out there have recommendations for a better, more stable Component Switchbox? Thanks! :-)

Re: The Official PS3 thread - resolutions are meant to be broken

I have absolutely no clue why that would happen 'when the video goes extremely bright'. That really doesn't make any sense at all. You're sure the connections to the box are fine? Have you tried plugging the PS3 directly to the TV to make sure this doesn't still happen?

If you've tried all of that and still need a switcher box, this one from Monoprice would be my recommendation.

I think that game will be this year's Mad World. Stellar hype, solid reviews but in the end I think it's going to tank.

Here are some reasons why:

1) People expect that games are twitch based
2) Not enough killing
3) Name of game does not contain these words: Call, Duty, Modern, Warfare, Halo, Master, Mario, Wii
4) Slow story driven games tend to be niche market titles
5) not enough blood
6) boobs

I don't care if Heavy Rain sells a million copies as long as I enjoy it.
