$5.99 Disney Christmas DVDs in Best Buy ad ringing up @ $3.49! YMMV

YMMV

Not sure if this is true for all of them, but I thought I'd start a separate thread just in case anyone else wants to try.

I just picked up the two Disney "Classic Cartoon" Holiday DVDs that are in the ad this week for $5.99, but $5.99 showed up on the receipt as their regular price, and it said I got an additional $2.50 off each one for some reason.

There doesn't seem to be anything online about the $5 off, and it specifically said select Disney Christmas DVDs, so I doubt it's should be working like this.

I'd pay $3.49 for some of them. The funny thing is that I really wanted Rocketman years before it was released in the US so I bought the PAL version from Amazon.uk and it turned out to be FS. Bummer for me, Disney should give me a WS release for my torment.

edit: Apparently this is a FS release as well.

The Rookie Blu-ray offers a $10 rebate if one owns the DVD so that might be a worthwhile purchase for anyone that is interested in buying the BD in the future (not sure but think the rebate was good until next summer).

Yes, it is. For some unexplicable reason Disney seems to have favored FS releases for *lots* of older titles.

Although it's not always true. For the longest time I wanted Indian Summer (another BVHV title), but it was only released in FS (the film was in 2.35:1). Eventually I broke down and bought it. To my surprise, though the packaging said FS, it was in full WS!!

I know what happened. There's a thing right now where you can buy 2 select Disney Christmas DVDs and get $5 off. So, you bought the two animated Christmas DVDs for a total of 11.98 and got $5 off of that, meaning you get those two for $6.98. There doesn't seem to be anything online about the $5 off, and it specifically said select Disney Christmas DVDs, so I doubt it's should be working like this.

Thanks. I'd change the thread title if I could.

Thanks for the info. I was at BB to pick up my order and on impulse picked up both Disney Christmas DVDs and sure enough, the register knocked them down to $3.49 a pop at the last minute after everything was scanned in. So once again, thanks for sharing.
