Detailed DLC Info & Vids
Official DLC Post
I have compiled a list of the varying difficulties for each song on each instrument, as well as youtube links to all songs on Expert guitar and Expert drums when available.
This information is gathered from the tracks that I own, with the gaps being filled in from other various sources. If anyone has any of the missing information, PM me and I'll get it thrown in here.
I have put them into spoiler sections per L&O's request, as well as to keep this first page uncluttered.
The format for the difficulties is:
Guitar/Bass/Drums/Vocals/Band
The current week's DLC is updated on Tuesday AM when the songs are officially available for download on 360.
If you are looking for the upcoming week's DLC, check the Announced DLC section near the bottom of this post.

Announced DLC (with no set date):
This is a huge overhaul of the format, with input from several users (thanks especially to Michael Corvin and lordwow). If there's anything else I can add to be helpful, let me know, preferably by PM.

Leaderboard stuff goes here.
With the release of RB2, I'm hoping to find a relatively easy way to keep track of people's overall scores in one easy to find place.
My initial idea is to make a "Rocker" on rockband.com that we all friend. I can then grab the source code of that rocker's leaderboards and parse to the individual players and extract the information into a pre-formatted post that I can easily upload once a week or so.
If anyone has a better idea (or even a different one), let me know, either by PM or in the thread.

Doing a search in the feedback forum answered my question. I don't know how close I am on the DLC post, but better to play safe than sorry.
EDIT: The limit is 24999 before things get all wacky.

Seriously. I'm filing an official protest on behalf of all PS3 whipping boys. And if I have to hear one word about Corvin playing Panic Attack, I swear I'm going to complain with even more ferocity.
On a side note, I think that's the first time I've been called out in a thread title, so happy birthday to me.
But I still got to play Locksley first. So nyeah.

Good god, the wait is killing me. This and Spore in the same month ensures that I will be doing nothing but working and playing video games (and maybe a date or two just to remind myself of what's out there).
I'm a little annoyed that the cymbals are $30, given that they're really just cosmetic additions. I'll definitely get the drum set, and wait on a deal for the cymbals.
Also, what's this about auto calibration for the guitar? How does that work? And why is it only the guitar that gets calibration? I'm still not convinced EA can make a better guitar controller than the Les Paul from GHIII, which is what I'll be using until I hear the new guitar is worth it.

The auto-calibration via the guitar is meant to synch the audio/visual delays. It will work for all instruments, but only the guitar is equipped to interact with the game for auto-calibration.
It basically has an "eye" and an "ear". It watches the screen and listens for cues and tells the game how to correct itself.

Question... why does DeepDiscount have the bundle priced at $168.99?
Use Live.com's 10% through DD and you're down to $152 and change. I wonder if that price sticks?

Hmmm...well, don't know how MS is going to pay all of this cash out, but it IS MS, it's not like some 3rd world company pulling a gimmick for attention (I don't think).
Looking at Live.com, there would actually be a lot of good deals on games (amongst other things obviously) - Zappos.com of all places has 22.5% cash back and supposedly free shipping. I don't know how I feel about buying games from a shoe store though.

RB2 has a few engine upgrades we've seen, namely drum solos and HOPO chords. Now, obviously, for the RB2 disc songs and already released songs this is a moot point, but I'm curious about the future DLC incorporating these features if they're meant to be cross-compatible with RB1, will it be possible to have those bits going forward?
The HOPO chords seem the bigger challenge there, unless the RB1 engine merely converts them to regular notes, not HOPO. The drum solo might just not be recognized and you only get the notes with no bonus points for solo performance.
I'm just curious about this and hope the cross-compatibility isn't limiting what they can do on DLC going forward. Especially when RB3 comes with it's own upgrades and even further removed from RB1.
