I liked Fun With Dick and Jane I seem to be alone in that, I need to add it to the "Movies you like but other people hate" thread.

The movie might be funny but the trailer doesn't do it any favors.

Yeah, I thought Dick and Jane was very funny too.

Count me in as someone else who likes Dick and Jane a lot too, even though I still think the 1977 original is better by just a small margin (Ed McMahon is a big reason for that).

Saw the trailer while at the midnight showing of Pineapple Express and I didn't think it looked that great either. Like someone else pointed out, it does seem like a mainstream version of Chaos Theory, a film which I did enjoy when I saw it earlier this year while it was being tested here in Phoenix, AZ and still think highly of now. That doesn't bode well, but you never know. Like William Goldman says, "Nobody knows anything."

This kind of stuff doesn't help:

Stephanie DeTiege .... executive assistant: Mr. Carrey
Jill Ambrosino .... assistant: Mr. Carrey
Dotan Bonen .... security: Mr. Carrey
Gary Kobat .... trainer: Mr. Carrey
Linaia Light .... masseuse: Mr. Carrey

A staff of 5 people (plus he had his own costumer) plus his $25 million salary has to add up to a nice hunk of the budget.

I'm not a big Carrey fan, yet this looks funny to me. I'll see it.

Looks good. Might go see it. But I don't think it'll be at the top of my list.

I really like Fun With Dick and Jane. I appreciate it's commentary on the crooked corporations more than anything. It had a lot of good, fun humor. The only thing that bogged it down as the completely inplausable banking stuff (maybe because I work with wire transfers, etc. all the time and know how that stuff works).

This will be a hit. Carrey shines in films like this, even if they are predictable. but aren't most comedies predictable?

Carrey is simply annoying. I've never been a fan of his comedies for the most part. This seems like a silly take on Liar Liar with the whole compulsion aspect. Couldn't lie and now he can't say no...wow. Wish he did more stuff like The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine. In the age of the Apatow comedy, Carrey is obsolete (then again I was saying this during the raging Sandler or Carrey debates in middle school lol)
