Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Criterions, Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc.
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Single Item 15% OFF, but should be reusable in different transaction and if the Clerks will scan it more than once.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

It says 'This item not available in stores' which means you can't walk in to a Staples store and buy it. You have to order it through their site, although 'Pick Up in Store' is an option meaning it will be shipped to the store.
Then it says 'Redemption: In-store only' which I think means you could only use it at B&N in-store, not through B&N's their site. This worries me because I'm tempted to get this, but I don't have a B&N close by.

the $75+10 appears to be live. Expiration date appears to apply on Promo Cards and the 75+10 Promo ends the Monday before BF which probably means the 50+10 BF deal will happen again this year

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thursday emails are out. Criterion Sale still presumed to start tomorrow online and in-store, but as always I'll believe it when I see it though I finally did get confirmation from one of my local stores of Nov 2 - Dec 3 dates.

Nonmember appear to be getting a Unique Code 15% off coupon in-store coupon (Members a 20% code). The code specifically states it's for a book, but I'm not sure it's not a general use coupon anyway. No Criterion restriction specifically printed, but that hasn't always meant much over the last couple sales.
Expires end of business Nov 4, 2018

Online Coupon
15% off $40.00 to $99.99 and 20% off $100.00+
COZYREADS
Expires Nov 5 2:59am ET

I tried my member store-only coupon code online and it worked, so someone's wires got crossed for this batch. (I ordered a book, so I don't know if it works on anything else. AFAIK, their coupon codes are unable to distinguish what item you're ordering unless the item is specifically flagged as a textbook in their system.) YMMV, but the sooner you try using the coupon online, the less chance they'll have to fix it.

Here are three 15% store-only coupons:
HFNM8VC9CKE9A
FVPCJSGW63JC8
2QJWWUEW9N3AA

Whether these work on items that aren't books, or can be used online, is anyone's guess. I was able to use a 15% coupon on a book in my cart just now online - but not a random Star Wars Blu-Ray.

Of course I've never seen this Distributor before nor a Co-Use BN GC so I'll let you know when mine show up.

EDIT -- looked a bit more into things. HappyCards appear to be part of GiftCardMall/Blackhawk who sell cards online and run a ton of the GC Kiosks in-stores. everything I can find appears these normal std Physical GC loaded with funds just like you'd buy at CVS, Lowes, Publix, HomeDepot, etc. The fine print say "Some merchants allow only in-store use" but that shouldn't apply to BN. The cards I bought yesterdya say they will arrive by Nov 12 so these are e-GC or fast. the Staples promotion ends November 3 (I'm assuming Sat Night around Midnight in some time zone)
So I decided I'd take a chance and order a pair of them and received them yesterday. On them they tell the cashier to ring it up as Credit, not Gift, and on the back it has a 16-digit credit card number, a CVC code and an expiration date. So I didn't try it on the site yet, but not sure how likely it is to work. Has anyone used more than one credit card at a time on the website, and/or has anyone used a regular prepaid credit card where the balance was more than what was on the card?

They appear to be pre-paid VISA cards (like rebate cards). I don't know of a way to use partial payment online, but I know a lot of stores can ring them up that way so you could stack them.

It's certainly possible they could do that over the phone with CSR, but nobody has tried it yet.

My thought is with 3 $50 cards - is it possible to buy $150 in BN Gift Cards and get 2 Promo Cards in addition? Or save them until BF and get a $50 GC+$10 with each HappyTeens card. There absolutely no reason the last option wouldn't work and you effective turn you 127.50 into $170-180.

EDIT:
Not sure about online purchase, but the Happy Cards ring up quite nicely for Gift Cards in-store and it was much easier than I thought it would be
Bought $150 and paid with the Happy Cards -- slid 1st $50 card through the Payment console, "Enter Pin" screen popped up so just hit enter since it has no PIN, it deducted $50 with a balance of $100, rinse repeat with Card 2 and Card 3.

I did have to remind the Manager about the Promo cards which she ran to the front desk and retrieved the Special Card, entered the amount and scanned her laminated card to activate.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Now that it appears teh ARROW 50% sale goes through early January there's even a decent sale to use those Promo Cards on.
The Arrow 50% off sale is active, but definitely only selected instore titles are included -- 12Monkeys, Fish Called Wanda, Hired Hand, Day of the Jackal, Cat o Nine Tails were in the Special Sale bin. Images was in store, but not part of the store sale.

December Criterions are not 50% off in the computer and I don't think the January titles are even in the database yet though it would be nice if someone would specifically check "Notorious" since I forgot.

One of stores was getting a mild makeover losing about 25% of the floorspace it appears for TOYS, but it really doesn't look like their stock is any less. More LPs, less CDs, and the Movie shelves and Bins were much closer together than they used to be and packed tighter.

Store #2 had changed inventory, but overall looked mostly the same. Maybe a couple less Music/Movie stands and definitely more LP's.

One of the old Media Clerks was there trying to clean up everything and get the boxes unpacked and on the shelves, but the back register was closed. We did have a nice conversation since he is into 50/60's Movies and I've seen him there for years.

How confident are you in B&N having the 50+10 BF deal again this year? I'm wrestling between going for the 75+10 deal now and for the BF deal later. Problem is, if I waited and the BF deal does not materialize, I'd be screwed.

12 Monkeys should still come with the essay booklet right? The one I'm looking at doesn't seem to have anything inside,as far as I can see...

It should -- slipcover sealed inside the ARROW cellophane with the pull tab. It's not easy to see end on but I can tell if I look closely there's is a booklet. It's pretty hefty weight as well -- should be easy to tell just by feel that there's more than a case/disc inside.

I'd say now up to close to 100%.

Leaked BF ad shows the 50+10 offer will be offered.

I guess always a guess whether it follows the same rules as in the past -- 1 per account online and every multiple of $50 in store with no limit.

I was looking closely, and didn't see it, unless it's really really really thin. I saw what looked like a 2 or 4 page insert. And it didn't feel heavy to me. Perhaps I'm just crazy, or perhaps that copy somehow didn't get the booklet included. I like the LE sets with the nice box, where the BD case and book slide out of the side...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Hi!

Any idea when the 50+10 offer will take place?

I went to the store today and I saw the 75+10 offer but no 50+10 offer.

The cashier told me that she hadn’t heard of any such offer.

Thank you!

Buy $50 Gift Card, Get $10 Reward Gift Card
The $10.00 Barnes & Noble Reward will be delivered via email to you on December 26, 2018 to the email address associated with your $50.00 BN.com Gift Card / eGift Card purchase on Barnes & Noble.com. The $10.00 Reward is valid beginning December 26, 2018 and expires on March 1, 2019 at 2:59 a.m. Eastern Time.

The GC promotion in the past has allowed 1 PROMO Card per account online, but for multiples of $50 in store though rarely a Manager has gone by the absolute letter of the coupon which clearly states "This offer can be redeemed only once per customer" for both online and in-store offers.

Should we expect anything better than 25% off one item? I thought there was usually a 30 or 40 for Black Friday.

Even though the coupon language doesn't explicitly call out Criterions, should we assume that neither of these will apply to Criterions or even the 50% off Arrow Video films?

I will assume the Criterions will be blocked in store (already confirmed online) since they've been coupon blocked throughout.

The Arrows have been working with coupons so for now I'm expecting them to be OK though so far only 10 or so have been confirmed 50% off in store. Unless you have one of those stores that just manually adjusting he Arrow ineligible items to 50% then allowing member and coupons too

It might make for a nice ship to hope order, but the one item limit would be fra more tedious than just making a big online order with the 20% code.

Last year there was a 50% off All boxsets during the weekend which coupons werent allowed. This year there's some sort of 50% listed as Sat only, but no way to know how coupons will work until someone tries

So I ordered an e-gift card yesterday, coming up on 24 hours now, and I haven't received it yet. Do e-gift cards ever take this long to be delivered?

I ordered it with one of those Happy Teen cards so I'm worried that's an issue. I mean, I would think if there was a problem, they would have let me know, but I just checked the order and it still just says that it's open.

Finally got the e-gift card, 33 hours after ordering. At least this does prove that the Happy Teen cards can be used online!

That's a little slow, but holidays and weekends I've had to wait until the next day esp if I order in the wee hours of the morning. Weekdays I usually get them in 1-2 hrs at most
