NBA2k3 (franchise mode?)

Has anyone bought this in the past?

I'm planning on picking it up for $15, but not if it lacks a franchise mode.

If you do have it, can you describe what you can do in franchise mode, as well as what you feel may be some limitations?

Thanks!

It has a franchise mode. You'd be better off picking up ESPN Basketball. Also, $15 is way too much to pay for a 2003 sports game. I have seen it going for $5.

That's funny - I have only seen it 2 places, and one was $30.
I have read many bad things about ESPN bball, and plus there's no way I'm going to pay $50 for game.

I used to buy new games left and right and wasted so much money it was ridiculous. All I wanna do is just play some basketball.

Back to the point though, can you please describe the franchise mode to me?

Also, are there any stats bugs? i.e. in NFL2k3, none of my tackles behind the line of scrimmage are ever counted in the respective stat column for Tackles for Losses. It's annoying.

I never had problems with NBA 2k3. The franchise mode is good. Read a review for the best info, really. I can't go in depth, but it's a good game. ESPN Basketball blows it away, though.

Look at places like Target for NBA 2k3 for like $5-$10

It's even more at places like Target.

I appreciate your input, though I must say I wish I could get some feedback on the depth of franchise mode.

Also, I am not getting ESPN Bball.

Maybe you can answer a more direct question if you have a minute.

I'm really just trying to see if the Franchise mode gets as boring as NFL2k3 -- where you basically just play game after game after game until the end of the season, then all you do is re-sign players and draft. It gets SO boring. I know NCAA 2k3 (bball) lets you basically work your way through the ranks, so-to-speak, and ESPN NFL Football lets you "win" stuff for your crib.

Anything like that in either 2k3 or ESPN (2k4)?

They have the draft, the scouting, the hiring of coaches, trainers, etc, create your own player, and ESPN Basketball has 24/7 mode which is fun, and has tons of unlockables. Trust me, neither game is boring.

I know for a fact I saw NBA 2k3 for $5 clearance at Target. Don't even bother with online, go check your local Target. Also, eBay might be a good place to look, as well as maybe your local Gamestop or EB.

Ok thanks. I guess I'm just looking for a franchise mode that lets your team develop. NFL 2k3 does not allow that -- you basically just do everything for 20 seasons. Yeah, your players' ratings will fluctuate (and follows no rhyme and reason) but that's it.

I'm looking for more from NBA2k3, and hope it offers that.

Is there a "crib" in ESPN? What is 24/7 mode?

Thanks !

I wouldn't go so far as to say it blows it away. The only real major difference is the 24/7 mode, which is like having 2 games in one. Overall, I prefer 2K3 gameplay. Pay no more than 10 bucks for 2K3 though.
