For those who want STIV early...

I was at my local FYE in Milford, CT (Connecticut Post Mall) today. I saw Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home Collector's Edition for sale!! So instead of waiting until Tuesday 3/4 for when it comes out, FYE had it and I got it. They had a "SALE" tag on it for $19.99 while the non-sale price was $26.99 (ouch).

I don't really care for BestBuy's $15.99 sale on The Voyage Home since the gas used to drive to BestBuy makes up for the $20 paid at FYE.

PS: I don't know if this is at all FYEs across the nation.

BTW, Does FYE Pricematch? I wouldn't mind price-matching in the future if they get DVDs early on a Sunday instead of waiting til the Tuesday release.

Mine was shipped from DeepDiscountDVD a couple of days ago. I should get it Tuesday or Wednesday.

None of the FYEs that I have ever been to price match. I don't know if Trans World Entertainment has a general policy for all their stores or not. It seems unlikely.

They actually do but only with a PRINT ad. (No scans allowed).

That's how I got my pricematch on the first Season of the Simpsons.

That's good to know, but the policy must vary store by store. I've asked locally and was deflected each and every time. Speaking of The Simpsons - Season One, FYE had absolutely the lowest price I've seen in a B&M during its first week of release: $21.99. That was the in-store advertised price, at least in Dallas/Fort Worth. It beat all of the other nearby retailers.

I hope that's the only movie they broke street date on...unless they want to be paying some money...
