Contest, sort of: Guess the Rating (review from Audioreview enlcosed)

Here's a user's review of a pair of speakers from Audioreview. I'm editing out the brand so you can't cheat (as easily).

I picked these up to round out my home theater. Also got the ****** *****'s for my main speakers. I am very impressed!! The highs are so crisp it can be painful. The midrange is good and solid. Bass is a bit weak but who cares. Anyone with a decent systems going to use a sub anyway. The speakers also have a good look to them, nice and modern without being to gaudy. I would recommend this setup.

Just a side note: I originally got the metal 'tube' stands but they vibrated way to much. Took them back and got the basic wood stands....love them, much better, doesn't detract from the sound quality.
OK, now it's time to guess the Value and Overall Rating (1 to 5 stars) this user gave these speakers. I'll give a url and reveal the ratings once everybody here who wants to has a chance to guess.

Sounds like those lame little Boston boxes that come on the metal poles. I bet he gave them 5 stars.

I love this: "The highs are so crisp it can be painful."

"Daddy why do my ears hurt when we watch a movie?"

My other guess would be some type of Bose lifestyle system.

nekobus, not only were they BA's, but you got the ratings right too.

Painful, crispy highs? Bass that is "a bit weak"?

Sign me up.

Do you think he would have given them a lower rating if the highs weren't painful? I'm just wondering what that guy thinks speakers should sound like.

Actually, his rankings were:

Value : 5 stars
Overall : 5 stars

Somehow, they're so good that they're actually very very bad.

wahahaha. That cracks me up. Thanks for a good laugh today, I needed one. I actually listened to a set of these once and kept hearing this buzzing sound and I traced it down to the pole they were mounted on. I thought to myself, "man this is a great piece of engineering..."

I knew it had to be five stars after reading:

"The speakers also have a good look to them, nice and modern without being to(sic) gaudy."

It reminds me of the guy at work who dropped a fortune on his Lifestyle system and kept telling everyone how great it was. One day I asked him if they were a little bit bright for music and he replied, "why would they be bright, they are black-they don't shine at all." It was the hardest straight face I have ever kept in my life.

It makes me want to stand outside any big box electronics store with an inexpensive psb or paradigm system cranked up and yell: "See what you people are missing!"
