It's 22.99 at BB.com not 24.99 if you want to make your OP accurate.

I might either try Borders as I am a rewards member, or I might use my $10 certificate at BB. I intend to pick up some other things as well, like Robot Chicken and Geisha, so BB might be my best place for one stop shopping.

I received my King Kong 2-disc from Tower today. First disc was off the hub and scratched to hell. The damn hub seems to be defective with no grasp of the DVD whatsoever. I called and they're sending a replacement out immediately.

I fast forwarded through it tonight and I think it will play in spite of the scratches but I paid for a new disc and should get one. They're sending me an envelope in which to return the scratched one.

My first order from Tower goes bad. But they seem to have good customer service and the bad hub isn't their fault.

with the lenticular craze thats been going on, i'm kinda surprised that this one didn't get the treatment. I would have been all over one with Kong swatting the planes on it. I'm going to check out the "foil" slipcase thing at wal mart tomorrow, maybe it'll be good.

Mine hasn't shipped yet, but Basic Instict came today with Capote and B.I. was completely cracked, but I think it was a press problem because the case wasn't at all damaged. I better be getting Kong shipped soon.

Is anyone going the Target route and getting the coupon as well as the Orville rebate? I want to see if I can double up on coupons.

Definitely will not get the lenticular treatment (like what WB do with their deluxe edition releases).

But like you, I will stop by at walmart and check out what the "foil cover" is all about....

I though Walmart was going to have an exclusive book with the release - how long is the making of documentary on the bonus disc?

2-disc special edition Confirmed $16.99 in-store at Tower in NYC. Went in this morning before work, and they had them on display when you walk into the store along with some of today's other new releases. $14.99 for the single-disc.

I used the $5 coupon I got through the survey posted by Dorsalphin earlier in this thread (bought a CD to go over $20), so $11.99 for me. Thanks for that info Dorsalphin.

No, it's on both.

Anybody lucky enough to find this special "foil slipcover" at Wal-Mart?

Sam's prices on new releases are seldom very good, usually near $20 for standard single-disc releases. I never buy new releases there.

Nothing, I suppose. Website made it sound different from the regular slipcover.

I was just at my walmart and all they had was the Standard version and the black slipcover.

FYI: The Standard was 13.98 and the 2 disc was 20.98.

I thought about it and chose the standard because there's really not that much to the 2 disc that is worth paying almost $10.00 for. I say $10.00 because I used the $3.00 off coupon from Papa Johns.

Which btw I didn't have to buy a pizza for. There just happens to be a PPJ right down from the movie gallery I visit and they had given them a huge stack of those inserts to display so I took one

Of course by that point I had already bought the movie so I ran back to walmart and had to deal with their wonderful customer service department. They were not going to do it because they couldn't find an expiration date on the coupon. I was getting pretty ticked. I think I made the comment along the lines of "I doubt it's expired since it just came out today!" Eventually they foud it on the back in small print so they just gave me $3.00 cash.

So you might check any places near a PPJ to see if you can nab one of those coupons without buying a pizza. I believe it's only for the standard version as that's what is pictured.

For those of us who do not have a Tower Records near them, you may want to pricematch at Circuit City with the Borders Coupon for the $19.99 2 disc. The cashier at the Aventura/FL CC didn't even bat an eye. She treated it just like any pricematch. Maybe YMMV depending on the store/cashier but I've never at a problem at CC while sometimes Best Buy gives you a hassle. Either way, I'm a happy camper. Got a free candy bar as well with the deal.
