I remember seeing North By Northwest, Rosemary's Baby, Doom and a Carter Family PBS thing.

They also had a lot of "Previously Enjoyed" discs in Blockbuster style cases marked $4.00 and $4.90.
Thanks! I'll be sure to look for Strangers on a Train and North by Northwest.

Out here on the West Coast I haven't seen any of the Paramount or the WB titles recently mentioned. The other day I found a small new batch of "family titles" for $2 (mostly new bad TV animation stuff, but "My Girl 2" FS was among them).

The new batch of Mill Creek packs finally got here, so I picked up "Nightmare Worlds: 50 Pack" for $13.

Also found was a few copies of "Monty Python's And Now for Something Completely Different" WS/FS for only $3.

Don't know if this was mentioned anywhere on these numerous pages, but I found Creature Comforts Season 2 new and sealed for $3 even.

My local Big Lots had a bunch of Dragonball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh discs today. I didn't pay attention to what, but I thought I'd throw it out there if anyone is into that stuff. I think they were $3 each.

Just found another copy of one of the original Cowboy Bebop single disc DVD's tonight among the new $3.00 anime DVD's.

Picked up V4 tonight.

Have already found v3, v6, and the Best Sessions(2dvds)set.

Thats 3 out of 6, anyone else find any more volumes?

I also picked up V. 4 of Cowboy Bebop today. I didn't see 6 so I've only got 2 of the 6 so far.

It is The Dead Zone, but it's the newer special edition. I saw it today too. There were a lot of other titles, but nothing particularly notable, and nothing at all that stood out as being worth the $4.90. If this is the new price point my days of DVD shopping at Big Lots may be ending.

Ah, cool. Don't think it's worth an upgrade for me though.

What's so bad about $4.90? What are you paying for all your other dvds that makes $4.90 so bad?

More stuff to add to the Paramount $4.90 list:
An Everlasting Piece
Foul Play
An Almost Perfect Affair
Lords Of Discipline
Dirty Deeds
Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One For The Road (FS or WS not sure, sorry)
Not For Ourselves Alone (PBS)

Mentioned before, but in my stores, these titles are all in a separate section; on a regular shelf or on a table, not in the usual rack with the other dvds. I would have missed them if I wasn't browsing the rest of the store the other day. There are lots of these dvds, many copies of each title.

"Family" titles:
Madeline
Creature Comforts S2
My Girl 2
Monty Python's And Now for Something Completely Different (this is the older version)
Soccer Dog
Are We There Yet?

these were also among lots of various Berenstain Bears titles and some other stuff

and there is still one lone BF $2 copy of Steamboy left in the Amherst store. It's on the rack on the opposite side of where most of the dvds are. It's pretty much on it's own next to some Barbie junk or something.

It's not so much that $4.90 is bad. It's just too much for me to take a chance on something mediocre. At $2, or even $3, I'm willing to try basically anything that looks even remotely interesting. At $4.90 it's going to have to be more than that or I'll just cycle another Columbia House account.

Now I'm not going to stop paying attention. Big Lots can come up with some real gems from time to time, and I'll be ready for those. I'm just not going to be going in there and buying random movies I've never heard of like I have before. I suppose instead of saying my days of shopping there were ending, I should have said my buying would decrease quite a bit. That would be more accurate.

The prices seem to depend on the companies that put the DVDs out- since those are Paramount titles they might have cost the store more to get than the ones they got from Sony (still haven't seen any Paramounts in my area.) Still wondering what the deal with the Sony titles was that they were able to sell them so insanely cheap.

They don't seem to mark down stuff that doesn't sell- most stores here have a bunch of "The Kid Stays In The Picture" for $4.99 that's been there almost a year, I'm just waiting for it to drop below $4.00 before I get it.

"Madeline" is on Sony's foolscreen-reissue casualty list so if you want it grab the old disc while you can. I got Creature Comforts and got 2 discs inside- one is all of the season 2 episodes, the other is "Merry Christmas Everybody!" That one was first in the case, not sure which order I'm supposed to watch them in.

Aren't we lucky to have Big Lots?

This sale at DD sums up all the Sony titles we've been getting at BL for months for much cheaper!

Wow. Can't believe how many of these titles I've picked up at BL and most of them for $2 - $3.

Just happened to run into a Big Lots store today and wondered over to the DVDs, not expecting much...instead I was surprised to find the following:

Rebel Without A Cause (2-disc)
The Philadelphia Story (2-disc)
Giant (2-disc)

Each of these were $4 each! There were 2 copies of The Philadelphia Story, single copies of the other 2 - needless to say, there weren't any of them after I left

EDIT: I see someone previously mentioned the RWAC 2-discer
