My question is: Is it totally different from the 7-disc set...I mean, I compared them in the store and it's a bit thicker, but the general idea of the set could be quite similar in the 7-disc. I'll also assume that the four replica paintings are the same in all...it would be interesting if they put different images in different boxes....
Now I'll do a quick peak and see exactly what's on the 8th disc.

wish there was more Q&A. seems target is doing $8.00 or so more for all these exclusives with a Q&A as bonus. least this has slipcover, some art cards, etc...but the others? the trend isn't looking good for target stuff to justify $8.00, but that $5.00 coupon makes it much more worth it.

So I'll see if I can find my camera and snap shots of the one I bought (appeared to be the last one).

At 4:30 my Target had a ton of both sets. I picked up the deluxe. I'm already finished with the second disc. Its a good show, although where I am at it is slowing getting started.
Hiro is a cool character, and I wish they would just let the cheerleader die.

Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I think the packaging of the regular DVD edition is much sharper than the Target Deluxe, so that's the one I picked up. Also, I find that I don't often make it through all the special features on my TV DVDs, so I'm okay with not having the 8th disc.

If it weren't for the $5 off coupon, I probably would have just picked up the regular version at Best Buy. But for only $3 more, the cards and the Q & A seemed worth it.
Question: Did the Q & A take place before the end of the season or before it started? I haven't seen all of the episodes yet (I had a bunch stored on my DVR which crashed) and although I'm not too concerned about spoilers, I don't want to purposely walk right into them.

Target and $5 coupon as well. I was worried yesterday when people were saying they were getting the last one, or there were only so many. Thankfully my fears were unfounded, as the Target I went to first (there were three along the route I would have been last night) had a whole shelf full of them. Sadly, it'll probably be a little while until we actually get around to watching it.

darthmaher: if I recall correctly, the date of the Q&A was March 10, 2007; that would place it just after episode 18, "Parasite" which aired on March 4. So there were still episodes 19-23 to air for that season. This page of Wikipedia is pretty good, but if you've not seen all the episodes yet, you may want to beware....also there's a few episode summaries for the upcoming season 2.
bookcase3: are you saying that the eight disc packaging is dumber? IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE SAYING?!?!?! LET'S TAKE IT OUTSIDE!!! laff...
SCOTT1598: I had began entering it before I'd taken the photos and at some point it told me that it had already been submitted. I guess the only "flaw" I see in the entry is that it speaks of it being a seven-disc set. But, most important for me, it's got the correct cover art.

scott1598: interesting collection over there....I damn near shat myself though when I came across "August Underground" which the summarized plot showed only these words:
"Imagine walking down the street and finding an unmarked VHS tape. Curiosity peaked you take it home and pop it in. What starts off as two men screwing... "
LAFF!!!
