Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Well, another October has come and gone. I ended the month with the Al Adamson stinker, Dracula vs. Frankenstein. While not a good movie or a scary movie by any metric, I still found it watchable in...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Things happening outside of this challenge are killing me (metaphorically). It only just occurred to me that I forgot to watch my own subset picks on their scheduled night. I haven't yet found the...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Came home from work too tired for a full movie, so I opted for a couple episodes of The Munsters . Anybody remember the revival series that briefly ran in syndication in the Nineties(?). From what I...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Just my luck that Surfinhank would have the list above mine. My lists normally look crummy, but now it's going to look like I put zero effort into my list (which is untrue: I put in the minimum...

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 13: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checkl

Yongary, Monster from the Deep (1967) Vs. Highway to Hell (1992)

... Or do the movies have to be thematically similar?

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Is anybody planning on revisiting something they've watched in previous challenges? Lately I've been thinking about rewatching The Hidden, which I watched for Challenge 5. The Twin Peaks revival made...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 13th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Boy, it's been a while. I'm back for lucky thirteen, but the true challenge seems to be finding ninety minutes to watch a horror movie (let alone any movie) these days. Even though I hardly have time...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

My list is finished. I'll be back next year for Lucky 13, but I'll only get through 13 movies if this year is any indication. I think my downfall was too many bad/mediocre movies and not enough good...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I believe it began with Anne Rice and her "vampires are people, too" stories. There might be earlier examples, but Rice was definitely the author that struck a chord with people.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I've got a feeling that it isn't by choice that Fred Dekker doesn't work these days. Both Creeps and Monster Squad, while rightfully remembered as cult classics, didn't exactly break any box office...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I happened to catch Manos on MST3k this past Sunday night. I am firmly convinced that is the only way anybody can sit through the movie without wanting to gouge out their eyeballs.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

I caught this movie on TV last month, and I have to chime in with my appreciation for this film. In addition to Naughton, the film stars character actor Bruce Davison, Stacy Haiduk and David L....

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Not exactly, but I did rewatch two movies on old lists that I had no recollection of seeing and had no reviews written: Lurkers and Love Me Deadly. As it turns out, it wasn't that I hadn't watched...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Paul Bartel needs no reason to appear in a movie, silly! In all seriousness, Bartel and Mary Wornov are reprising their roles from Eating Raoul in the movie. Likewise, Dick Miller reprises his role...

If I recall correctly, the mountain man is a cannibal. I'm with you 100% on everything else about the movie, though.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Is that going to be a prize package, or will the titles be awarded individually?

Been looking through my lists from previous years in an attempt to find something to kick off this year's...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Point taken about sluggish physical media sales. It seemed like there was also a decrease in the quantity of costumes and decorations, though. I guess that seeing the diminished Halloween stock at...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 12th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/

Comet TV has quickly become my "background station" when I'm puttering on something at home, especially since they added MST3k to the Fall broadcast schedule.

Went out shopping today, and it...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 11th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 11th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Just to make sure we're all on the same page, I was talking about the 1997 movie titled Breeders. IMDb tells me that it's actually a remake of the 1986 film of the same name...? I'm going to have to...

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 11th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 11th Annual October Horror Movie Challenge (Oct 1-31) Pt

It actually made its debut on broadcast television, not on home video, so it falls under the TV guidelines.
