re: Star Wars

Only if you count the Boba Fett cartoon from the Holiday Special. It's accessible from the menu though, not hidden like normal easter eggs. Adam Gregorich at HTF checked with Lucasfilm and they said...

Re: The Rocketeer finally coming to Blu-Ray - December 13th

They're giving us the trailer but I can't believe they're leaving off the 23-minute "Rocketeer-Excitement in the Air" feature from 1991. It would have been something for the Blu-ray, at least. It was...

re: Star Wars

My thoughts exactly. He can re-release them until the end of time for all I care. Give me the chance to buy a nice copy of the OOT and I'll be happy.

re: Star Wars

Thanks for the great list, mhg83. If you wouldn't mind, could you PM me as to where you located it? I have some of the things in that list and there's quite a bit more I wouldn't mind having.

In...

re: Star Wars

If Lucasfilm was looking at it from your viewpoint of DVDs playing in a BD player, how do they explain leaving behind "From Star Wars to Jedi" and the LD extras?

DVDs may always play on Blu-ray...

re: Star Wars

It would have taken only one additional disc, a BD-50, to include all the previous DVD extras as that's less than 46GB of material. I'm fine with studios choosing not to carry over previously SD...

re: Star Wars

I disagree. I think the fact that those sets carried over everything from the previous format makes them superior, at least in that respect. Although, I don't think the way they handled it with the...

re: Star Wars

Not quite. They could have carried over all the previous DVD extras on one BD-50, therefore, not a 15 disc set. LOL at 15 discs. Those past DVD's have 46GB of material. One extra disc is all it would...

re: Star Wars

Well said, Boba Fett.

I really have no issue with the set's price but I've found the special features content a huge letdown since it was announced on May 4th.

I'm shocked by the amount of...

re: Star Wars

Agreed. That is quite odd to see the heroes of the OT just shoved up in the corner of the picture.

A small-scale Luke Skywalker, the center of the OT, is pushed into the upper right corner like...

Wax Tom Cruise and Wax Fonzie

Here's their last days on Conan. Hilarious.

re: Star Wars

Those pictures of him in that shirt make me think he's either toying with us or maybe he's going to surprise us in two months by going back to the original Han/Greedo scene for the new set. That's...

re: Star Wars

Informative post, Jay G. Thanks. :)

:D I hear you guys on that one. I want the OOT released as badly as anyone and I think his stance on the issue has been ridiculous, to put it kindly.

re: Star Wars

From the link that Jay G posted:

"This is normally the point of a restoration, and though I just a moment ago spoke of this not being the case for Star Wars, the other great irony is that it, at...

re: Star Wars

I received a reply to my followup email to Lucasfilm, in which I asked about the three prequel docs and if there was a possibility of FSWTJ and EOD getting a separate release. In the first email I...

re: Star Wars

I'd like new stuff too. On the other hand, the new features they're giving us here, at least in terms of disc 9, are pretty weak, in my opinion. Almost four hours used on the 501st, Spoofs, and Star...

re: Star Wars

Min,

I know that you were probably talking to droidguy but I'll respond anyway.

I only asked them about "Empire of Dreams" and "From Star Wars to Jedi" in my initial email. I should have asked...

re: Star Wars

I received an email response from Lucasfilm. I already knew that "Empire of Dreams" and "From Star Wars to Jedi" would not be on the set or they would have been listed on the disappointing "Star Wars...

re: Star Wars

I think they just used the bad costumes purposely, to make it funnier. Just check out the two shots of Chewie's mask, lol. $50 will get you a better Chewbacca mask than that.

Based on that press release and my post above, I'm not holding my breath. I just don't believe that they would leave them off the listing if they were there.

On the other hand, I hope you're right...

re: Star Wars

From the official LFL announcement. Disc 7 is for the prequels, so only disc 8 is undetailed as it relates to the OT.

They gave all the specs for disc 9, entitled "Star Wars Documentaries". They...

re: Star Wars

I've been assembling my own "Ultimate" set over the years too. I really thought that this set, with the space that blu-ray provides, would be the ultimate set that fans have waited for, short of the...

re: Star Wars

I agree. I want the other things on the set but including almost four hours of fluff while leaving off the two docs I mentioned is inexcusable, in my opinion.

No "Empire of Dreams" and no "From Stars Wars to Jedi" included. But hey, we get almost four hours of fans in stormtrooper outfits, spoofs, and a ported History Channel doc with scientists talking...

re: Star Wars

I know this has nothing to do with the point you're making in your post but for some odd reason, your mention of this made me think of a Seinfeld episode. Elaine and Kramer are at the diner and...
