Quiet you. That sort of thing gets in the way of exploiting the shooting.

(I would assume Obama misspoke and meant to say "this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries at this rate", if he didn't have such a history of lying conveniently misspeaking.)

Would have been awkward if the SCOTUS said states had to issue Conferedate flag license plates after this shooting.

They were on bikes.

They were unarmed.

They were police. And they were unarmed.

True.

If this guy had lived in Japan, this almost certainly would not have happened.

Re: Shooting at Charleston SC Church

So you've got a predominantly black church, in a southern city with a long history of racial antagonism.....this weird white kid comes to the church, and in an open and Christian spirit the people welcome him to join in....he sits with these people and listens to the sermons and prayer group for AN HOUR...and then he pulls out a gun and starts killing people.

If that's not evil, I don't know what is.

He did acquire it illegally. He was a felon and not legally allowed to own a gun.

Were they sent? If a firefighter drives by a burning building and stops to help, was he sent? Is his failure to stop the fire from burning a sign that no firefighters have the proper equipment?

Where are you getting that he was a felon?

You might want to let the copy desk take a swing at this one.

Psychopath is also a medical diagnosis, I don't think they can legally make that claim. Even if he's crazy, he might not be a psychopath, and labeling him as such might help build and insanity case.

I guess it's a pending felony for a drug case.

Maybe he was giving everyone a chance based on how good the sermon was.

Then if he was under indictment for that offense, he would have indeed been prohibited from possessing a firearm under preexisting federal law.

And indictment doesn't strictly mean indictment by a grand jury, but:
Quote:
Includes an indictment or any formal accusation of a crime made by a prosecuting attorney, in any court under which a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding 1 year may be prosecuted or where a case has been referred to court-martial if the person is in the military.

Why do you keep repeating this crap when it has been explained to you several times that they were not "police" in the sense we North Americans understand it. Their only duty is directing traffic and giving parking tickets. They do not have what you and I would refer to as "police training". And they were not sent to stop the shooters, they just happened to be in the area.

Re: Shooting at Charleston SC Church

You do know someone who sells pot and guns, you just don't know that they do it. Hint: It's not the gay person you know who hasn't told you they are gay, and it's not the black girl you know who is actually white but identifies as black.
