I also don't like how he says that immigrants arrive and quickly get on welfare. No, you don't just arrive and get on anything you fucking twat.

Yup

Been a few notable cases around here. A2 city council is all up on the sanctuary city stuff, but if ICE already knows about you, and wants to deport you, there's not anything they're going to do.

"Skills based visa," you know, because if one had "skills" and a job that paid well in their own country WHAT WOULD BE THE FUCKING POINT OF COMING TO USA?!?!?!?!

Jesusfuckingchrist.
Well to be fair there are a lot of skilled professionals that come to the US. Doctors, nurses, programmers etc. The point for them is to make more money.

Sure, folks with means will easily be welcomed, but everyone else is screwed. This will hurt business that thrive on employing those that work for less $$$. Granted, that already is the norm, but get ready for another major screwing.

I'm not arguing for this stupid policy but I'm married to a Filipina and we know many nurses who had to pass an extensive nursing program to come over here to be RNs. These are certainly not people with means. So for certain countries like the Philippines (even before Duterte) there have been skills requirements to get a green card.

I think we should have lots and lots and lots of legal immigrants.

I also think we should give priority to immigrants who have skills. We need more doctors. We need more people who start their own businesses and create jobs.

Re: One & Only Illegal Immigration Thread: Part IX

After Boston Judge Lisa A. Grant saved two-time bank robber Bampumim Teixeira from being deported, Teixeira murdered two doctors in Boston.

Bampumim Teixeirais is a legal immigrant who was convicted of two bank robberies in Boston, Massachusetts. During both robberies, although he threatened to shoot people, he did not actually have a gun.

Normally, a person who is convicted of two bank robberies would spend quite a few years in jail.

But Teixeirais’s judge was social justice warrior Lisa A. Grant. And Judge Grant cares more about criminals than she cares about law abiding people.

Since Judge Grant cares more about criminals than she cares about law abiding people, she sentenced Teixeirais to a combined 364 days in prison for his two bank robbery convictions.

By giving Teixeirais such a ridiculously short sentence, Grant saved Teixeirais from being deported.

If an immigrant who is convicted of a crime spends 365 days or longer in prison, then after his sentence is completed, he gets deported. If he spends 364 days or less in prison, then after his sentence is completed, he gets to stay in the U.S. Judge Grant was well aware of this when she sentenced Teixeirais to 364 days in prison.

After Teixeirais got out of prison, he murdered two doctors in Boston.

These two murders are Teixeirais’s fault – but they are also the fault of Judge Grant.

Judge Grant cares more about criminals than she cares about law abiding people, and these two murders are the direct result of her choice to save Teixeirais from being deported.

Re: One & Only Illegal Immigration Thread: Part IX

Funny parody in the Post about the immigration centric news briefing today:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...45d76#comments

My favorite bit:

Jim Acosta (pointedly wrapping himself in a flag and releasing several eagles from his vest pockets): STEPHEN, IS THIS WHERE WE ARE AS A COUNTRY? WHAT ABOUT LIFTING A LAMP BESIDE THE GOLDEN DOOR? WHAT ABOUT THE HUDDLED MASSES YEARNING TO BREATHE FREE? Is requiring immigrants to speak English and possess advanced skills — is this what the Statue of Liberty means?

Miller: Well, actually the poem was added to the statue LATER. Really the statue doesn’t have to mean that immigrants are welcome. You know who carries torches usually? Angry mobs. Maybe she’s saying GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM YOU JOB THIEF, ever think about that? I mean who among us can really know what a statue means. I don’t know what any statue means. You can’t pay any attention to things that were added later, be those things poems or so-called constitutional amendments.
