Olbermann to sit in with 'This Week'
By PATRICK GAVIN |
4/20/12 4:52 AM EDT

(But which driver will ABC News send?!?)

Former Just-About-Everyone Employee Keith Olbermann will sit in on ABC's "This Week" roundtable this weekend, it was announced Thursday night.

It's his first political gig since being fired by Current TV. (Olbermann subsequently appeared on Letterman)

And, speaking of drivers, Olbermann took to Twitter briefly Thursday night to rebutt some of those jokes.

"Why not just take the subway to work, Keith? Why do you need a car?" Olbermann was asked, to which he replied, "Actually? Employers' insurance on on-air people requires cars. Others like Beck have bodyguards during all movement."

"Helpful hint to @ThisWeekABC: make sure to send a proper limo service to pick up @KeithOlbermann. Smelly drivers need not apply." wrote another. Olbermann wrote back: "I presume you know there were never limos, and the "smelly" incident was fabricated."

I'd want to get picked up in a car in Manhattan too if I were a multimillion dollar anchor (and even if I weren't). Is this supposed to be a knock?

The only knock on Olbermann is that he keeps wearing out his welcome wherever he goes...because he's an ass and impossible to work with from what I've heard.

Everyone knows he's an insufferable ass but his limo service apparently is the big "haha" thing right now.

From what I gather the story wasn't that he wanted a car service but that he was burning through them quickly because they weren't up to his standards. Apparently he went through 8 services in the short time he was there.

Keith Olbermann must have pretty thin skin to get upset over Jimmy Kimmel's jokes about him at the April 28 White House Correspondents Dinner.

Kimmel joked in front of the President, White House press corps and their celebrity guests, "I'd like everyone to look under your seats. Under each one you will find a copy of Keith Olbermann's resume. Is Keith here tonight? Limo wouldn't pick him up? The thing about Keith Olbermann -- he is so likable."

He continues: "Al Gore launched Current TV in 2005 and it took off like a North Korean rocket. But to be honest, I didn't even know Current TV was still on the air -- but then I don't get 'Channel a Million.' Keith Olbermann burned more bridges than the arsonist of Madison County. He has more pink slips than Marcus Bachmann. Too soon?"

If Olberman is saying it, it's a lie. That guy has an aversion to the truth. He's the liberal version of Grundle.

There's a huge difference between Grimde & Olberman. Grundle doesn't have the audience that Olberman had.

If you count the people who post in a grundle thread, grundle has a larger audience than Olbermann at Current TV.

No, but complaining about the poor undocumented driver because he 'smells' and 'tries to talk to me' is...at least, if you're a liberal icon.

Olbermann might return to MSNBC

Quote:
The biggest rumor to emerge is that MSNBC has engaged in talks with soon-to-be-departed ESPN2 host Keith Olbermann about returning to the cable network’s primetime lineup. Olbermann previously hosted Countdown from 2003 until 2011, and was an immensely controversial figure for the network.

Multiple sources within the network tell us that several shows are at risk: All In with Chris Hayes, which currently runs at 8 p.m., opposite Fox’s ratings titan in The O’Reilly Factor; PoliticsNation with Al Sharpton, which features the controversial host’s commentary in the 6 p.m. hour; and The Ed Show, which was cancelled once before, moved to the weekend, and then revived at 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Re: Keith Olbermann OUT at MSNBC AND Current

Then the question will be who will last longer, Olbermann or MSNBC itself?

Re: Keith Olbermann OUT at MSNBC AND Current

I thought MSNBC was shifting away from punditry. We need a news station that delivers the news. All we have now is 5% news and 95% pundit assholes programming their dumb audiences what to think about the news.

Serious thought: Olbermann should be the new host of The Daily Show. I think he could pull it off.

I want a Olbermann and Brian Williams news and comedy show on MSNBC.

It could be like the Big show with Olbermann and Dan Patrick but with politics and not sports.

Hannity and Olbermann.

You know you'd watch it.

Too pompous/self-important and not funny enough.

I would watch that, but I don't think Hannity would willingly work with someone that's going to call him out on his bullshit like Olbermann would.

Or vice versa.

Hannity has experience doing a show with Alan Colmes. When has Olbermann ever split the stage with a conservative?

But then Colmes was a total milquetoast and would let Hannity walk all over him.

Colmes was the very definition of a Fox News Liberal -- and Hannity still couldn't handle arguing with him.
