I've watched that clip a few times. I think Eric Bolling was serious about it. Until the one guy and everyone else started laughing about it. Isn't Eric getting his own show? Oh boy.

Re: The Official Media bias thread ptIII

And now Sinclair is trying to buy out Tribune TV stations, which will make them one of the biggest players in broadcast television.

Quote:
Already, though, Sinclair has benefited greatly from the FCC: Under its Republican chairman, Ajit Pai, the agency has relaxed media ownership rules, beginning with a change in the way some stations are counted toward a company’s national footprint. That deregulatory move made Sinclair’s bid for Tribune fathomable, analysts have said.

Once merged, Sinclair could still exceed the FCC’s limit that broadcasters cannot have a market share greater than 39 percent. By some measures, it could reach 50 percent. In that case, it could divest some TV stations it’s purchased in order to stay below the cap — but Pai has also explored raising the limit, which could grant the company another big break.
WJLA and News Channel 8 in DC are both Sinclair properties, and while they aren't Fox News, there's a perceptible right wing slant in how they present many stories.

It was. They were talking about how he was getting fired, but the title card said 'resigns'. They did fix it shortly after, but... yup... real. It was minutes after it became public, for what it's worth.

PHP Code:

^ link to the exact time

edit: They WERE talking about him "stepping down" but they corrected it after about 90 seconds.

Look how confused they were when they realized Trump had fired him. Then they quickly tried to make it seem like that made sense.

Fucking classic.

Supposedly, James Murdoch is aware that making Fox News more mainstream will reduce its viewership, but he's willing to take the hit. We'll see how long he can stand the heat, because Fox News is by far the most profitable division of the company.

But Fox hasn't moved towards the mainstream yet. They spent yesterday repeating the fake story about the murdered DNC staffer with links to Wikileaks rather than covering any of Trump's problems.

Re: The Official Media bias thread ptIII

If they wanna go "mainstream", whatever the fuck that even means anymore, they'd have to shitcan Hannity, Carlson and those morons on Fox & friends. IOW, revamping their entire brand. Which I understand can't happen overnight, but it is possible. I mean, in less than a year they've already lost Ailes, Kelly and O'Reilly; their leader and two biggest stars - a year or two ago, did anyone think that could've happened?

Yesterday, Fox News called the Trump/Comey memo thing "fake news", followed almost immediately by Murdoch's own WSJ confirming the story.

What's weird is that I've heard "liberal" MSNBC has been getting increassing ratings, but the owners want to rebrand it as a conservative network.

it's a real shame Alan Colmes didn't live long enough to see this.

The fallout from this will eventually catch Murdoch and all these venal scumfuckers. In fact, I think there already is a Fed probe going on with them in regards to the payouts over the ousted letches.

Assange is also rapidly approaching his expiration date, which will be another huge bonus for the western IC.

If cutting the cord is affecting ESPN's bottom line, surely it must be affecting Fox's as well, right? Aren't the majority of their viewers older and technology inept?

Running theory on why Hannity has been so (much more) unhinged lately:

He's been told he's gone but they'll ride out his contract, so he's acting a fool since he has nothing to lose.

I don't think he's "acting".
