As I recall, the general consensus going into the debate was that Governor Palin was going to freeze up, burst into tears, and run from the stage, so by the mere fact that she didn't do so, she was proclaimed the victor.

In terms of substance, it was the same parade of slogans and sound bites that these debates usually are, so whichever side you were pre-disposed to agree with probably won.

I'm shocked at the lack of partisanship you have shown with the above response.

I didn't watch the debate, therefore I shouldn't comment on it.

Yes!

He did fail in controlling the Thomas nomination - no excuses for him.

As far as Bork was concerned - Bork was too connected to Watergate in the minds of many. I can overlook Biden's actions in that one - a little.

Most surveys showed Biden as winning but I don't think they included factual statements as part of the criteria. I think Biden's style carried him through as it always has.
