Left Wing Loons or Right Wing Loons

Upon watching FOXNEWS this week at the Dems. Convention I noticed all the left-wingers protesting and many were against Obama.
If you recall on Bill Maher's HBO show some left-wingers disrupted Bill's show.
And as you know Maher is left-wing.
So which is more dangerous for America?
A left-winger or a right-winger.
The knock on right-wingers is that they are too much into Jesus and want prayer in school and Christian values forced upon us.

I think there's been polls asking who on here is Republican or Democrat. Just reverse those numbers and you have this poll answer already.

As my example with Bill Maher and those left-wingers.
And the left-wingers who don't like Obama.

The ones who aren't intelligent enough to realize their own ignorant prejudices are being preyed upon by the wealthy, powerful, and ambitious are the one who are dangerous.

That's most US voters. "Left and right" my ass. That's like saying "heads and tail" are two different coins.

They deserve to get what they want "good and hard".

I don't know that one is worse than the other, but certainly left-wing loons haven't been ostracized from our society to the degree that right-wing loons have.

Examples: A Che Guvera, or Lenin/Trotsky/Mao T-shirt has cachet as "radical chic" fashion, whereas you would be pretty hard pressed to find a Himmler/Mussolin/Franco/Pinochet t-shirt on too many college campuses.

Obama can have some degree of a personal relationship with a left wing radical who actually perpertrated violence, and it isn't a kiss-of-death for his political career. If John McCain had a similar relationship with a KKK guy who had actually committed a bombing, he simply wouldn't be a viable candidate.

Worse? There are more left wing loons, in my opinion, but they aren't really dangerous....they are just embarrassing and annoying. I think there are fewer right wing loons (and I am just going by the number of people who seem compelled to protest, march, etc.) but they aren't always as easy to identify and seem to use gile more. That can be pretty dangerous.

I guess I would just say they are different kinds of dangerous, but neither is truly very dangerous.

A loon is a loon. Some of them are simply foolish, some of them are dangerous. The ones on the left seem more extreme, but the ones on the right seem to have more access to the halls of power.

I love how the fringes always think of themselves as the true mainstream moderates. I listen to both, I laugh at and pity both. It seems like to be a fringe loon you'd always have to mad and upset about the way of things... probably ruins their own lives.

I think the "left wing loons" are more dangerous, mainly because they and their loony views more accepted and propagated by major organizations (universities, most television/print media, etc). I can't really think of any major "right wing loons" other than Fred Phelps and his cult, and there are very few (if any) people on the "real" right who are proud of them or even accept them as "one of us".
It does seem like a defining, shared characteristic of both fringes is a lot of anger.
The "right wing loons" (apparently defined as "someone who doesn't agree with me"?) don't want to legislate your body--they want to protect the body of the unborn person in your body (assuming you're pregnant). (I'm leaving out those freaks who bomb abortion clinics [not that that has happened recently, has it?] because that's terrorism just like the PETA and ALF freaks, and I don't agree that the ends justify the means in either of those cases.
It is somewhat interesting, that now the left is not being united, but divided, into many many subgroups of varying looniness, and many of the most loony apparently have a major aversion to compromise at all.

You're not going to believe this, but Phelps is actually a Democrat... I'd put him in the category of religious loon though...

Right-wing loons are definitely given a platform on talk radio.. I know because I listen all day. Some of the people that call in are downright scary, same as left-wing radio though... so it's a wash there I think.
