Suffice it to say, he doesn't purposely let people know it. I don't know if things have changed, but a few months ago there wasn't a mention of it or anything at all on his official site.

![]() And I thought everyone who hadn't been living under a rock knew that Senator Obama's middle name was Hussein and that he attended a madrassa in Indonesia when he was a small child.

Give me a break. Any vote for a third party candidate OR a "stay home and protest" action is the same as throwing your vote away. To quote Rush (the band, not the radio personality), "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice". Man-up.... vote for one of the TWO viable choices. And if neither particularly appeals to you, then vote against the one that turns you off the most.
As for me, I'm a Constitutionalist. The GOP is much more inline with my leanings than the Dems are, and though I'm uncomfortable with McCain winning the GOP nomination, I shudder to think what a Hillary or Obama presidency would be like, particularly with the Dems in control of the Congress. I see both of them as socialists that would be hurtful to our national security and our business base. My vote (in this scenario) would be based on the lesser of two evils, and I would MUCH rather see McCain sitting in the White House than I would either of the frontrunning Democrat candidates. I expect many will disagree with my reasoning, and that's fine. I would be voting for the candidate who more closely aligns with MY priorities. If all of you twenty-something Jolt-cola-addicted American-Idol-watching X-Gamers vote differently, that's just dandy -- it's what makes a representative democracy work best, even if I *do* think most of you are caffiene-addicted idiots. ![]()

When there isn't someone that I feel that I can vote FOR, then I don't vote. And IMO, it is those of us without a choice who truly have the right to complain... not those who voted. (I know that this view is upside down from the majority opinion)

If you vote third party, with a party most closely representing your views, then you are at least showing Washington that you do have a voice. The third party may not be viable today, or even tomorrow, but it's more viable than "no one". and to Kenbuzz: Basically I've come to see your stance as being nothing more than a cheerleader for the devil. ![]() Sorry.

I still don't understand this vitriol on the part of conservatives. Not in the slightest.

I've never understood the attitude that you are wasting your vote if you back a third-party candidate. If you are voting your conscience, how is that a waste? It astounds me that so many people only vote for a Dem or Rep candidate because they think that is the one that will win -- regardless of how they feel about the candidate's views.

Rush Limbaugh is worst in my opinion. I listen to his show during my lunch break at work, and holy crap is he vicious against McCain.

Conservatives - McCain, overall, is more conservative than is Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee.

On the face of it I agree. However, his slights against the conservative establishment have been rather large and high profile, even if few in number. |
