I've always wanted to bet on games but never understood the spread and the whole +/- thing

anyone care to explain?

He's taking GB -3.5 that means GB has to win by 4 or more pts to win the bet.

If a team is +7 that means if they lose by 6 or less pts or if they win the game outright then you win the bet. If they lose by 7 pts then its a push(tie) and you get your wager back.

Wont do my picks until Saturday night at the earliest

I threw down a couple bets yesterday to keep things interesting. Took Tennessee +6.5 (yay) and the over on 35.5 (maybe not so smart!). So I'm battin .500 on the early season.

I didnt even touch that game, it's always a good bet to bet on Manning, but it just seemed like a sucker bet. The spread was 3, bodog added another 1/2 pt making it 3 1/2, last time they did that in week 1 the opposite of the point increase was the winner. The line looked too good and as I predicted in it being a sucker bet, Dolphins totally dominated that game, but Manning just got lucky, didnt make a mistake and capitalized at every little opportunity. Miami had the ball for 45:07. 15 of 21 on 3rd down conversions, Indy 3 of 7. The linesmaker thought the Dolphins were going to win that game straight up but couldnt possibly make a pick'em.

Wow, that's a lot of bets this week. I'm not too comfortable with any of the lines I'm seeing at Bodog - except for Chicago - 3. Seahawks are banged up and I've got faith in the 'good' Cutler coming out this week.

For the hell of it, I also took SF +7. Thought about Philly when it was -7 but it's moved to -8. Any idea what QB is showing up this week?
