I'm not sure why the above hand is posted. You got married to AK and got beat by a pocket pair.

Yawn.

Man I owned those casino bonuses. Those were the good days when I escaped the weekends in the black.

No offense. I'm sure it was meaningful to you. But ... you pushed with AK that missed and lost. It's just not a very exciting hand.

out of curiousity - how many hours a week do you log playing? And do you play multiple tables simultaneously?

Great Job tho!

Re: DVDTalk Group Daily Poker Journal II

After not playing the past few months, decided to start up again. Bankroll is $200 as of 11/02/09, played a $10+1 S&G and placed 3rd for $18. Played 30 minutes of a full $.10/.25 cash game and doubled my buy in. My bankroll now sits as $233.76. WOOT WOOT.

Going to try and stick to those limits until I can consistently beat them which I know I can. Short term goal is to have a bankroll of $1k by the end of the year and then go from there.

Re: DVDTalk Group Daily Poker Journal II

11/03/09 - Starting bankroll = $233.76, ending bankroll = $267.76. Only had time to play a $10+1 (9 player) and finished 1st for $45.

I don't know if it is because I haven't played in months or playing low limits but in the last 2 days, play has been horrible.

November 09
+$67.76.
Hourly winnings - $33.88/hr

Re: DVDTalk Group Daily Poker Journal II

Another solid hour of work last night.

11/04/09 - Starting bankroll = $267.76, ending bankroll = $348.62.

Played full ring game of $.10/.25. Bought in for $25, cashed out 25 minutes later at $69.39. Decided to play for another half hour, jumped on another full ring game, same limit. Bought in for $25, cashed out 36 minutes later at $61.47.

November 09
+$148.62

MGB: I am definitely enjoying the ride for now. I know it's only a matter of time before variance kicks me in the nuts. As long as I stick within my limits and play my regular game, I should be fine.

Re: DVDTalk Group Daily Poker Journal II

Playing in a live tourney on Monday night and flopped a straight flush (Js 9s, flopped Ks, Qs, 10s). I instantly went into daniel day lewis mode and acted my ass off. Ended up winning about 2.5X my stack and crippled the big stack who had the Ace high.

It's not easy but I only had $200 to play with. Not interested in risking my bankroll in one setting. Maybe someday.

Re: DVDTalk Group Daily Poker Journal II

I have to stop playing for a few weeks. Been on a roll these last few months. Playing great poker, cashing out regularly and for nice amounts.

Then ... something happened. About 3-4 days ago. The doomswitch got flipped. I've never seen a run like this. I'm losing like mad, and almost always from ahead. Runner-runners. Gutshots. Big pairs cracked by smaller pairs making sets. I'm not talking about a slightly higher occurrence here, I'm talking about near constancy. To the point that I'm almost resigned to losing when the cards are flipped and show me ahead.

I'm at a loss to explain it. Seems to go beyond variance. So ... I'm retired until December. Maybe by then my doomswitch will be off (I don't believe in a doomswitch, of course, but ... well ... I sorta do at this point).

Haven't played since my last post. Seems there were some problems with my deposit and is still being sorted out.

I was going to type this post but you beat me to it!

my 3 month boomswitch turned into a doomswitch this week

Two fun hands:

Raise 33 on the BTN, moron BB calls. Flop KK3. Turn K. River 6. BB shows 63.

Aggro BTN raises, I defend with K7s. Flop T77. I check/raise, he calls. Turn 8. Bet/call. River 8. Bet/raise/call. He shows Q8.
