Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

I have a friend on Facebook who uses that snapchat animal filter for a new video every fucking day as if she single handily created this miraculousl new animation and just needs to show the world its capabilities on a daily basis! So damn annoying!

Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

yeah speaking of facebook---i have friends who post some multi-panel cartoon of characters that vaguely look like them doing a mundane status update. 'Bob thinks things are great!' ... Why??

Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

I noticed that most of my Facebook feeds are from my older family members showing some phrase of the day or "how to" cooking video.

I remember when Facebook first started in 2007 ? everyone was posting pictures of their trips abroad, parties, relationship dramas, etc. now is just kinda dead.. maybe we all got old like in this forum

Are You Johnny Ray?
Are You Stevie Ray?
Are You Link Wray?
Are You Jimmy Ray?etc etc and just doing that until the person goes "Who want's to know"

I do not like this trend maggle

Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

I don't get Overweight people who always post a social media Food Page's latest fattening food/Dessert recipe video (I'm looking at YOU "TASTY" )...then 1 hour later they post the latest "Lose 10lbs in 3days using this Organic Herbal Detox!!"

It's like... Really? Pick a struggle!!!

I never really got what the purpose or meanings of emojis were behind the basic , and maybe poop.
Most of the time I can't even discern what they are in text messages as they appear so small.
But what really drove home the fact that I'm out of the loop is this ad. Seriously, I have no idea what it is saying or trying to convey :

Re: Popular stuff you have no clue about.

^ Yeah. I seriously don't get the appeal of that at all, or even what the hell its supposed to be. If anything, it's a great reason to *not* get an Apple.

On my Android phone, I replaced the stock keyboard with a JellyBean keyboard just to get rid of the Emojis. Every time I tapped on the spot where Backspace should be, a stupid Emoji keyboard would pop up. Not only was it freaking annoying, the damn thing would update weekly as they added more stupid Emojis to it.

I wonder if it's short for Legit?

I always took bae to mean "In" before anyone else. As in, took her virginity.

I generally know most of these, because when I see/hear it I tend to look them up.
I've been working with a millennial almost a year now, and he says YOLO (You only Live Once) and "on point" as in, His (fill in the blank) is On Point all the time. Sometimes when I tell him a story about the past, I have to pause and remind him there were no cell phones/Internet back then...

I don't post on snapchat but follow a bunch of celebs. They do have some cool selfie lenses/filters from time to time such as the Deadpool & Walking Dead zombie ones.

I never set up a My Space, Face Book, Twitter, or Pinterest account. I'm sure they are not difficult to navigate if I were to set them up now, but I never had the desire to.

Yup:

"lit" = very drunk or, more often, stoned.

"lit up" = just fared very poorly in paintball.

Only played paintball once so never learned the parlance.

Heard of eleven of those. I thought saying my phone died was rather common. Well, they are acting with legit and bro are new. (I'm not using them, I would sound like a dork.....likely just like that)

I'm right at the older cutoff for being considered a millennial, and I knew every one of those. "My phone died" though? Uhh, I thought everyone has said that for years, even before modern smart phones. Batteries have "died" for decades... Maybe it's a regional thing?
