That's too much meat. No wait, that's too much bun. Err, meat. Bun. Meat. Bun. Make that too much catsup.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

I'll take a good burger over most anything when I eat like crap...heading to Vegas for a few days, and would like to try some of the stuff we don't have around WI. I see there's a White Castle and In-n-Out on or near the Strip, any other fast food joints around there that I might not have here, that I should try? And what would you suggest for a first timer at these places?

(Yes, I know there are tons of higher quality places in Vegas )

Agreed. There's a place here that makes a burger very close to those proportions. They're great.

Fuckin' Rollin' Smoke BBQ!

It's not too far off The Strip, right off The 15.

Yeah, it's a bbq place, but a fucking amazing one - some of the best smoked meats you'll ever have. And they do have a great burger as well, called "The Outlaw Burger" - the meat is a smoked meatloaf, and it's awesome. This is my own pic of the burger.

Spoiler:

Here's a pic of their BBQ!

[size]
Spoiler:

They have an "all you can eat", but I prefer to just buy a whole bunch and take most of it home with me.

Get everything they have - it's all good and keeps well.

Sweet. Checking that out for sure. Burger actually doesn't seem that pricey. I see there's a new one by the pawn shop, doesn't look like they have the burgers there though.

I think slop beat me to it, but my criteria for a good burger is does it have a fried egg on it.

I think I mentioned it even earlier, maybe in a different thread (we've had a lot of food posts lately). But to shake it up I would say an over easy egg is even better. I like having the yoke runny.

Fatburger and Shake Shack are excellent. The former is in between Planet Hollywood and MGM Grand while SS is on the outside of New York New York.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

Most of those burgers look terrible to me. Throwing a ton of meat and cheese in a stack sounded cool to me in college or something, but these days it doesn't add anything except making it a bitch to eat.

Have you tried the Paunch Burger "Dinner for Breakfast" combo meal?

I always get the Royal Red Robin, but figured I'd finally try the menu-prominent Smoke and Pepper "signature burger." It was good, but I wasn't wild about the sweetness of the sauce. Glad I tried it, but it's back to the Royal for me (it's also three bucks cheaper).

Re: Determining the Best Burger

I'll be hitting up Golden Road Brewery this week and will sampling their Soft Shell crab Burger.

Look at that - looks like the crab just walked right into some buttered buns.

The first time I ordered the Royal red Robin burger I had massive stomach pains the entire day and night. Of course, I still ordered it again. I usually order their Crispy Chicken SW though. I tried the DGB burger and was not impressed.

Ruby Tuesday used to have more expensive burgers using "prime meat" but I could never tell the difference so I just ordered what was cheaper. The one near us closed years ago so I don't know if they still have them anymore.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

Is that whole crab deep-fried? Must be bad crab if you need to do that.

Maybe. We don't eat softshell in the PNW so I have no idea.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

It's fried. You eat it all hence the soft-shell crab part.
