What does the charcoal do if you're using a thick cast iron skillet?

Re: Determining the Best Burger

The best burgers are the ones I make at home and grill myself.

Easy! That is why there are so many "burger" places, not hard to do.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

I think that all your categories factor in to what you decide is the "best burger". As the bus said in other, more eloquent, words you have to compare apples to apples. In this scenario, I think you have to come up with a burger profile, and order that at each place. Decide beforehand what you're going to order and order the same thing at every place. Rank each of your catefories on your scale, and then you can use that to determine the "best burger". If you want to then factor price into it, you can use your grade and the price of the burger to come up with the most bang for your buck.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

Sorry about the bump, but I just had a taste of this burger here (I'm a good customer of the butcher featured in the video), and I have to say it was, without a doubt, the greatest tasting burger ever. Of course, you won't need more than a couple bites, but the meatiness flavor of it (along with the fresh bun and cheddar) really put it over the top. It was better than the best steak I've ever had. But it was seriously too fatty (look at that saturated bun!), that's why a couple bites was enough.

I would totally buy that if Whole Foods or the local butcher had it.

Eggs and avocados are my weapons.

I'm more interested in hearing about the triple bypass that takes place at the end of the 2 1/2 months.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

I was in Denver this weekend and had an amazing burger from a place called Crave Burger.

Had the Sin City burger. Loved it. One of the best burgers ever.

I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the Denver area.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

Yes. Besides the patty and bun, it has crispy tempura, fried white cheddar, bourbon-glazed onions, candied bacon, avocado and lettuce.

Only downside is that I ripped a ton of ass after eating this and it reeked

Don't even want to know how bad it would have been if I had tried their "Love Stinks" burger.

Fish. What kind? Couldn't tell you, didn't ask. No complaints though.

Fish is cool. Was just wondering what kind of thing they had breaded--shrimp, zucchini, etc.

Whataburger Rightly Named Best Burger In America

In an age where Donald "They're All Rapists" Trump is leading in national polls, it's reassuring to know that democracy still works sometimes.

How do we know? Because Whataburger was named the best burger in America in a bracket-style poll issued by Fast Company.

We can talk about how the bracket picked eight chains each from the East and West Coast, South and Midwest, or question why in the hell Wendy's and McDonalds were on the bracket to begin with, but the poll's conclusion is correct. Whataburger is the best fast food burger (until you bring Freddy's into the mix.)

Here's the bracket.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

'Eh. You never hear anyone say anything about hitting a Whataburger when they're out of town like you do for Five Guys or In & Out.

Also, brackets like this will never work. What are the chances people voting have eaten at all these places on both coasts?

Five Guys is bland, Whataburger is drunk food. In that competition, yeah they win.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

No way. Shake Shack is way better than 5Guys, and In N Out decimates Whataburger by light years. Furthermore, an InO Double Double costs less than half of what a Double Whataburger costs. Sure, the DW is bigger, but it's not 2x bigger.

Re: Determining the Best Burger

Just had my first Smashburger. It was ok, about on par with Five Guys I guess.

I haven't found a ~$5 place that is better than a ~$8 burger at a place like Friday's or Red Robin.

But overall I'd usually rather have 6 McDoubles and cover 3 meals than any one burger at a speciality burger place.

Life is too short, dude. You should indulge in a specialty burger at least once.

I do at least once a week. It's just that usually a mcdouble and $6 in my pocket is my preference.
