Let's Talk Lunch!
If you work out of your home, do you pack your lunch, or eat out? If you eat out, how big is your rotation of places? Do you eat there, or bring back to your desk?
Right now I've got two places on lock: this Greek place that just happens to do meals without carbs (you generally get a meat, a salad, and a side of veggies). ![]() There's also a salad place where I get some spicy chicken salads. If it's cold out, I get some laksa: ![]() A pretty good burrito place is opening on Wednesday, and I fear for my waistline. |

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I work three shifts. When I work mornings I usually bring a sandwich or some leftovers to nuke in the break room's microwave. There's an option to order cold or hot lunch from a local butcher who delivers daily though.
We usually order takeout when working late shift from a nearby gyros/pizza place. They have a variety of pizza in different sizes, various pasta dishes, salads and gyros. You'll get a free 1 liter bottle of Coke with every delivery when the bill is more than $25. It's either back to sandwiches or leftovers when working night shift, or BurgerKing. There is one BK about 5 minutes away open till 2 a.m. |

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I usually pack a lunch, but my wife and I eat out once a week. There's a local place called Neato Burrito that we both like, as well as a food court in one of the buildings near our respective workplaces. Either way, though, I try not to eat at my desk, especially if I'm buying lunch. I enjoy the atmosphere of most restaurants much more than fluorescent lights and cubicle walls.

I pack a lunch. I'd rather use the money for student loans.

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I try to pack, but it's easy to get lazy and eat out. Most often I bring it back, especially with food trucks natch, but sometimes I'll eat there if it doesn't pack well or if I'm meeting someone (unusual).

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I don't get a lunch break at my job. So to make up for that the boss buys us all lunch every day. There's a rotation of about 8 or so places. Usually just get a salad unless we're ordering Chinese or Italian.

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I go home for lunch to let my dogs out. I try and limit my lunch to < 300 calories which is pretty hard going out especially the lame places around my office.

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I used to either not eat lunch or eat out, depending on how cheap I was feeling. I now pack lunches every day, and I don't feel as weighted down in the afternoon.

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I go out every day for lunch. I just can't stand to sit at my desk and eat. I feel like I need the break to get out of the office for a while. Sometimes I go work out and then grab something on my way back but only because I don't have enough time to stay out and eat.

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I usually bring my lunch in tupperware, nuke it, and then go eat out in my car. I like to listen to podcasts and then take a 20 minute nap. I definitely make the most out of my lunch hour!

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I go home for lunch every day (I live 5 minutes away from the office).
I usually nuke a chicken breast and some veggies then pass out for a half hour. Occasionally go to Chipotle or Pollo Tropical and get a burrito bowl, or Whole Foods and grab some soup. |

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
I pack my lunch. A 6oz yogurt, granola bar, and a bologna&cheese sandwich usually fits the bill and is cheaper than eating out everyday.

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
When working, like now...I typically do "healthy" fast food.
-Chick-fil-a Grilled chicken sandwich (occasionally the club) -Potbelly, Turkey sandwich on wheat with no mayo, oil or cheese or the Farmhouse salad with no bacon or dressing -Subway 6" sandwich on wheat, chicken, no dressing and lots of veggies -Chipotle chicken salad with no dressing, veggies and guac -In N' Out - burger protein style (no bun) and no dressing (w/mustard, ketchup) |

Re: Let's Talk Lunch!
Both my wife and I cook quite a bit, so we always take our meals. I haven't eaten out while at work in a couple of years.
