Church's is pretty good. I'd take that over KFC. All of the Popeye's Chicken spots around here were closed years ago, but you can find a Church's all over the place. They're everywhere down here, and it usually seems like the people who love Church's REALLY love that place.

Kenny Roger's Roasters is also thriving over there. All of the locations except for one in the Ontario Mills Mall in So Cal have closed in the US.

Went to a local burrito place I had been meaning to try for years and it was okay. Drove half a block down and noticed a Moe's and it was a Monday-free chips w/queso and drink. DOH.

It's the best franchise sub shop...by far. At least out here in California.

I have to choose Long John Silver's. I'm not much of a burger guy and prefer chicken and fish. LJS has both, plus stuff like shrimp and clams. The only place where I always get a burger is Steak 'n Shake, partly because I like their burgers and partly because their chicken and fish options aren't that great.

Then again, we don't have In 'n Out here.

I prefer chicken and fish too, and I prefer Captain D's over Long John Silver's by a huge margin.

I would eat fast food for every meal if it wouldn't, you know, kill me within a few weeks.

Although I haven't had fast food for about 2 months (longest time ever!), I would say McDonald's is my favorite.

Locally here it's Beach Hut Deli. Togo's doesn't compare. The subs are just massively stacked and the variety is crazy.

Mr. Pickles is also very good too if you have one by you.

There's no Long John Silver's in Southern California? It's getting harder and harder to find.. there's only one I can think of in Sacramento.

I didn't know Steak 'n Shake was as close as Nevada. I thought it was predominantly a Southern chain.

What about Bob's Big Boy and Tommy's? Both are pretty good. Tommy's is the perfect drunk spot.

Well there are Long John Silvers I just meant there are none that close to me that it could be a routine thing.. so I guess I should have said I wish we had one closer If I drive 30 minutes or so I can find one in Ventura or Pacoima but nothing really close. Bob's is the same distance but we always like going to the original in Burbank. Tommy's is around as well.

The only Bob's I knew of are the one in Burbank and the one I pass every time I go to Vegas in Barstow. I wish there were some up here.

There's actually quite a few.. One in Northridge, and there's actually 2 in Burbank. Obviously the original over by the studios on Riverside Dr. but there's also one along the 5 @ Sunland. Torrance, Diamond Bar, and Downey have one as well. There's more.. Check out their website

As for where we are.. we used to have one about 20 years ago. I still see it in my mind whenever we drive by the building.

I probably go to McDonald's most frequently because of convenience when I'm dining alone. Cheap and fast, and not horrible.

I might pick In-n-Out or Chick-Fil-A if we had any in our state (the CFA Express at a college campus up north just closed).

Our local chain Taco Time is much fresher and tastier than Taco Bell but not as cheap. I like Qdoba but wouldn't consider it and Chipotle in the same category.

I liked Togo's when I was in California. I prefer Jimmy John's to Subway or Quizno's.

I had Taco Time when I was in Seattle and it was really good.

Why don't you consider Qdoba and Chipotle in the same category? It's the exact same concept.

Or do you mean you don't hold Qdoba to the same level you do Chipotle?
