Goodbye Mininova

I visited you everyday for the last 4 years

you were my first...I cheated on you a couple times but I always came back to you. It was fun while it lasted...

Goodbye old friend

I subscribe to Giganews. $1 a day for 128-bit encrypted downloads. There is a newsgroup for everything. This way you don't have to worry about all the bullcrap you have to suffer when you use peer to peer programs, like slow or dead trackers, nobody seeding, or really slow download speed from leechers. Getting binaries from newsgroups is a direct connection, and you can download as fast as your connection to the internet allows.

I guess you'll just have to find all new ways to steal stuff now.

Problem is there are no comments attached to the downloads so you really don't have anyone commenting if it is full of viruses or not. That's my biggest problem with newsgroups is you really aren't sure what you are getting.

Re: Goodbye Mininova

I got some of Secretmyth's stuff from there a few times but I rarely used it.

Still sucks, they had a clean interface.

Plenty of other places.

There are legal uses for bit torrent.

Downloading copyright content is not stealing, it is copyright infringement.

Re: Goodbye Mininova

I preferred Isohunt over Mininova even back when it was still... was not yet 'legit' let's say. I always went to Isohunt first.

Also Demonoid if they ever get their shit together again after an amateurish crash.

I think his attempt was to out-troll your trolling. Which amazingly worked.

Who uses public torrent websites anymore as it is?

Don't be that guy. There aren't threads about this on every popular tech forum on the internet because no one used it.

I meant for privacy concerns, not because it wasn't "hip".
