I have to hand it to those news casters. I'm confident I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face while reporting on such a thing.

That's the first thing that I thought.

There is all kinds of wrong with this story as pointed out by everyone else, but it is a bit depressing that he died on their anniversary. We could never understand that kind of relationship but that is some serious devotion there.

Hell, the simplest thing would be to leave breakfast, lunch and dinner on the kitchen table until he decided he was hungry enough to get up. Once up force the dude to the shower.

"sudden" death... Ha!
Gluttony and sloth sent him to Hell. Two of the seven deadly sins!

She's not the best catch in the world, but here's the thing that always gets me in stories like this: I am a reasonably decent looking dude. I am not Brad Pitt but I am no Brian Peppers either. Funny, laid back, pretty cool about stuff, easy to talk to once you get to know me and I get comfortable enough with the person. I can't find a girl in this world who will take me and dudes like this ALWAYS have girlfriends. I don't get it.

I would say many of the men of Otter couldn't deal with a dumb-as-a-sack-of-hammers woman.

Oh, my God. I've completely changed my mind because of this man's story. We must socialize medicine.

Brian Peppers. Hard to figure out ladies and the men they choose. Best of luck.

Re: Lazy Boy Spends 8 Months in Recliner; Dies.

If this wasn't in a trailer park in America I would never believe it. As it is, it doesn't surprise me a whole lot.

Why didn't the people who had to wear masks do something? Better yet, how could the wife stand to actually live there? The dude must have a watched a whole lot of Maury and Oprah those 8 months.

Because it is not a contamination. It is her husband.

Which makes me think that if she was that used to the smell, then her husband probably wasn't very clean even before he was confined to a chair...

Hopefully social services takes the kid away. She is certainly lacking in sound judgement.
