What flavor is Monster Energy Drink?

Every once in a while I drink the plain low carb Monster when I'm dragging. It tastes pretty putrid but it kicks my ass when I need it. Does anyone know what the flavor is supposed to be? Is it just like puke flavor or what? It's not citrus or berry or any other drink flavor I know of.

It's not like anything I've ever tasted.

Only energy drink I've enjoyed the taste of is Java Monster. I could drink that stuff by the case if it wasn't so damn expensive.

A small mom/pop store around the corner was going out of business and had to sell inventory. They had Java Monster on sale for $1 each. Yeah, I stocked up

I hate the taste of Monster and Red Bull. To me they taste like those white jelly beans I used to toss out of the bag.

As bad for you as energy drinks are and as expensive as they are I do drink more Amp than I should - about the only energy drink I can handle.
