Seriously? You have what may very well be the guy who burglarized your place and you're putting off busting him because of your work schedule? What, do you work 24 hours a day? I would have been at his place minutes after notifying the police. That's just some crazy prioritization, right there.

Gotta agree with Numanoid here... unless this is a BS story.

Same here. I'm baffled why you are delaying this. Just tell work you will be an hour or so late or call out sick or something.

Re: House was broken into today

So if this turns out not to be your xbox, are you going to buy it for $25 over his price? Or at least give him the $25 and explain yourself? If not, that's a pretty shitty thing to do. Sure, you think the picture looks like it's yours, but you don't know it. If it's not and you don't buy it, you've wasted a lot of this guy's time and cost him $25 he was told he would have. You're essentially stealing from him.

If it is yours, the guy won't likely hold out for the $25. He can make more in five minutes by stealing another guy's stuff.

Yeah, the plan made sense when it was going down last week, but as time drags on it's more unfair to the seller if it turns out the 360 wasn't Tarantino's.

Re: House was broken into today

was the Xbox market on fire last week or something? If it's not his xbox, then the craigslist guy just has to put it back up. it's not like everyone got a xbox last week.

I'm beginning to wonder if Tarantino has abandoned this thread. Somebody needs to rename it to "Everybody post pics of yourself here".

Re: House was broken into today

Sorry, forgot to post the result, because it isn't exciting.

I went and met him the day after I couldn't because of work. It wasn't mine. He didn't seem bothered that I wasn't going to actually buy it because I had driven to his house and he hadn't had anyone else even remotely interested. Serials didn't match.

I'll keep scouring Craigslist for my shit. Maybe someday it'll turn up.

I assume you bought a new X-Box, since I've seen you pop up online a few times in the past couple days.

If not, the guy's IP is logged my MS.

Re: House was broken into today

No, I haven't replaced it yet. However, since the hard drive was left at my house, I've just been popping it into my roommate's 360 to get my CoD on.

So yes, that's me online. However, if any of you see "Kleeberg" pop up on the PSN, that's the thief.

You told him you'd pay him $25 extra, and he wasn't bothered when you didn't? That seems.. odd.

Just take the deductible loss and let your insurance pay for new stuff. You were sure this was yours because of the picture, but it wasn't. How much time do you want to spend watching craigslist and driving around wasting people's time who are honestly trying to sell their own XBOX? Not worth it, IMO. Someone stole your XBOX, now you're chasing that with wasted time.

Re: House was broken into today

But if he actually catches the guy who did it, all that wasted time would be worth it. I'm not saying he shouldn't go ahead and replace the stuff, but if he still wants to scour the Internet or go by possible sellers' homes, then I say best of luck. My home hasn't been broken into, but I have had my car broken into a couple of times, and I know that feeling of just wanting to do something about it.
