Found a guy online today selling an XBox that looks just like mine (exact same crack in the faceplate, missing USB port cover). He's selling it without a HDD or a controller (both of which were left at my house during the burglary).

I pretended to be someone interested in buying it and sent him an email under a different name. He wouldn't provide the serial number through email, and said I could check it out when I got there to pick it up. My friend and I are going to meet this guy tomorrow. Should be interesting. Hopefully it's mine.

Well, if it is, just tell the guy you aren't interested b/c of it's condition and call the police ASAP! Was there ever a detective assigned to your case? If so, he'd be the person to call.

The Xbox basically has a 100% failure rate. Anyone who owns one has had it repaired free from Microsoft. Knowing serial numbers is required when jumping into that purchase.
