printing posters

I was wondering what is the best resource for printing posters at a decent price and with good quality?

Re: printing posters

I use to work at a print/mail shop that had a Xerox iGen3 printer. Made some quality postcards and brochures.

However, during some downtime, I made my own 24 poster on it. Forgot what type of paper I used though.

I'm not insisting you buy this printer...haha
Merely saying that if you find a print shop that has this printer, it's GOOD (if an experienced person is running it).

Re: printing posters

um, a print shop?

It would depend on what you mean by "posters" and how many you want to print. There are literally thousands of online printers to choose from, all about the same quality and price.

Re: printing posters

small posters to hang on the wall and just a couple. I'm only looking for recommendations whether it be a store or online place. I don't know if they're all the same I've heard a number of bad things about kinkos for example.

Re: printing posters

Small being what size, and what sort of image? I would go to Kinko's for anything up to 11 x 17, in full color.

Bigger than that, shop around. A local store will be better than online if you just want a couple.

I gather you have created your own images, since you can't just buy these posters?

sure, google "print shop" and your area and you'll find lots. I'm wary of the exclusive online print shops as the quality varies big time. And if you have to go the print shop to check out your work, you can go to an actual building - which you obviously can't do with online print companies.

Re: printing posters

I would imagine places online might refuse to print copyrighted material.

Re: printing posters

Kinko's does that too.

yeah, statcat... If my agents find unauthorized copies of my artwork on your walls, they'll break your kneecaps. I tell them not to, but they just take it so personally!
