McCartney could have easily outbid that $47.5 million if he wanted. This was pre-pegleg remember.

That is the question that has been haunting millions of Beatles fans.

Paul really is the only one that should have been owner of all those songs. He wrote approx 50% of all Beatles songs, so he should have paid whatever it took to get them.

Re: Michael Jackson to hospital in cardiac arrest (Dead)

His own catalog is doing just fine right now:

Quote:
Since his death last Thursday, Michael Jackson has experienced levels of popularity that he hadn't seen in something like two decades. Anyone could have predicted that Jackson's back catalog would experience a chart bump with his passing, but few could have imagined how completely Jackson would dominate sales this week.

Billboard reports that Jackson's albums take up the top nine positions on its Top Pop Catalog Albums chart, which measures the sales of albums that are more than 18 months old. Eight of Jackson's solo albums appear in the top 10, as does a Jackson 5 compilation. Jackson's Number Ones comp occupies the top spot, selling 108,000 copies.

Heck, I bought six Jackson 5 albums this week (three compilations that contain two original albums each) because I realized I owned no Jackson 5 music but they had some really good stuff. So you're welcome, Tito.

Also, this may partially be the reaction of people who liked his music but didn't want to support him while he was alive due to their opinions of his personal life.

Jackson only owns the publishers share of the songs, which typically is 50%. Lennon/McCartney still own, and have always owned their 50% songwriters share.

First the LAPD says the memorial will be next Tuesday at The Staples Center and then the Jackson family said a final decision hasn't been made.

Jackson Drug Aliases
Posted Jul 2nd 2009 8:46AM by TMZ Staff

Michael Jackson used a slew of aliases to score prescription meds, and we know the two names that could unlock the key to gross abuse by Jackson and some prominent doctors.

We've learned Jackson frequently used the names Omar Arnold and Jack London to get powerful drugs, including Demerol. Jackson also used the name of one of his bodyguards, as well as the name of the office manager for one of his doctors.

The DEA, which is joining to assist the LAPD in its investigation of several doctors who prescribed drugs to Jackson, will be hunting down these names and others.

Sources tell us the prescription abuse was so egregious, one doctor would call the pharmacy and say Jackson was coming down to get Demerol. The pharmacy would then fill the prescription, leaving the patient's name blank.
Heads are gonna roll.

If Jackson needed all this stuff just to get him through they day then perhaps he's in a better place now anyway.

Yeah basically he's joined the ranks of Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Keith Moon and the rest of the OD'd rock stars. His life will forever be looked on as a tragedy.

Here is some footage from his last rehearsal:

If this is released on BD, it'll be a day one purchase for me.

Michael Jackson Funeral Plans
Posted Jul 2nd 2009 3:10PM by TMZ Staff

So finally we have something firm on Michael Jackson's private family service. It will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles.

A motorcade will then go to the Staples Center complex in downtown Los Angeles where the public memorial will be held. We're told the family still hasn't decided whether the memorial will be at the Staples Center or the smaller Nokia Theatre. A decision on that is expected shortly.
Why would they consider the smaller Nokia Theatre? The line is going to be miles long.

For the intimacy

I hear they're going to have giant screens outside showing the proceedings. Thank god I'm not going to be anywhere near downtown Tuesday. The whole thing sounds like it's going to be very weird.
