When at home, do you say excuse me to your S.O. when you burp or otherwise expel air?

I couldn't take it anymore I tell ya! It was like livin' in a ZOO!

Sure, it's one thing becoming 'comfortable' with each other, but I mean, it was getting to the point that we would just, 'LET 'ER BLOW', and say nothing about it as if we were wild woodland creatures or what have you!

Anyway, we started saying, 'Excuse Me', or sometimes even, 'WOAH NELLY! EX-CUSE ME!' (if it's really loud or sounds like there's possible moisture involved), immediately after the sound effect, and for one reason or another, it's much more pleasant and a lot less 'barnyard' around here.

My girlfriend almost wanted to break-up because not only do I fart A LOT, but the smell is also enough to make her dry heave. I think it's all the protein I eat every day. Needless to say, I've begun holding them in for a quick trip out of the room.

Usually, we just say "sorry" or one of us laughs uncontrollably.

*sigh*
Love.

One of two scenarios, depending on who's doing it:

She laughs; I excuse myself.

OR

I cringe, complain, and overdramatize the disgustingness of it (while not actually minding at all); she excuses herself.

If it's a rather extravagant expulsion of gases, yes. Otherwise, no.

Re: When at home, do you say excuse me to your S.O. when you burp or otherwise expel

When I have a S.O. I hold it in and leave the room. I don't want to hear my women fart. Burping doesn't bother me at all but I let a woman know pretty early on that I don't want to ever see them going the bathroom and its a turn off to hear them let one rip.

Is this a significant problem in your household? Those are rather rare (compared to farts).

When audible, I always make a comment like, "Tugboat's coming through!" or "Eww, a wet one!" or "That was a kiss for you!"

When silent but violent, I say nothing and wait for her reaction.

Nope. I've been with my SO far too long to excuse myself or even apologize every time I let it rip. He's just as bad as I am and nevermind if the dog should let one rip near him. He's looking for an opportunity to cropdust the dog to get back at the poor creature.
