Actually with the "honesty" that Suleman has shown so far I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if the whole death threat thing is completely made up to try to get more public sympathy.

I must admit I'm torn. On the one hand, Ms. Suleman is definitely NOT a fit parent.

On the other hand, I am very sensitive to the idea of taking someone's children away from them.

On the third hand (impossible, I know), there are 14 children with little chance for a stable, healthy life unless they are adopted out, assuming they could be.

It is a very sad situation all the way around.

They do hair and make-up for the lights, maybe something appropriate to wear. I think the nose job, botox, callogen, lips, etc. were all hers (well actually ours since taxpayers paid for it.)

Also this was something that I hadn't heard before.

Suleman said that her daughter "spent a lot of money on toys," but never contributed rent or food money and failed to tell her mother about more than $167,000 that records show she received from worker's compensation claims.

She actually looked pretty good before her 'enhancement' surgeries. Now we know where some of that $167k went to. And with all of that money she is getting from food stamps and disability for her 3 kids, she can divert some of that for her own pleasures too.

As I said early on, I get why people get upset over this. Really, I do. But you know, people pay for Illegals, Wars, and various other things that they don't want so why even get upset over this. It's a waste of time and breath because nothing will change.

The kids will be fine. Believe it or not, it's a good thing that they're under the public eye. I'll bet they'll be better off than some single kids born to crap families that you don't hear about.

Death threats only serve to reinforce her belief that she's OK and the non-approving public is wrong. because those things are nebulous and abstract in concept. There isn't a specific name and face (except George W. Bush) and set of actions/choices that people see as completely irresponsible, selfish and downright fraudulent. People are angry because there is a specific person to vent that anger upon.

To me, this sounds like a defeatist attitude. I think people should get upset, loudly voice their disagreements, and if necessary revolt against those who take advantage of the good-nature of honest taxpayers. I think things WOULD change if people stopped cowering in the face of political correctness and pushed back against the politicians who serve their own self-interests and a selective minority of people.

If the hard-working, honest people of this country continue to pay the bills of every selfish idiot who has a "cause," then our employers might just as well send our paychecks directly to the government and then the government can send us whatever money they think is necessary to live on AFTER they've payed off those who think deserve more.
