Post your iPhone screens!
After jailbreaking it and changing the font.. After changing some icons, getting rid of the labels and adding a categories app... Three new "folders"... Two mods. The first one is for the keypad. The second is for the calc and is supposed to emulate a Texas Instruments scientific calc. However, I haven't finished modding it the way it's supposed to be, so now that screen shows up for five seconds and then reverts to the "normal" Apple calc.. ![]()

I have an iPhone but all I have is it set up the way it came and added a few apps.
What are the benefits to jailbreaking it? Can I do some of the stuff you have if I don't? What is a good site to learn how to customize it?

I was thinking about using the Catagories app. Do you recommend it? Is it easy to set up and maintain? Is it fast?
Where'd you find that pay-phone mod? Is it on Cydia?

The benefits of jailbreaking are amazing. You can install apps that aren't allowed on the iTunes Store thanks to Apple's tight grip on what kind of software is allowed. You can customize your iPhone with some really cool skins very easily with a program called WinterBoard. I recommend it to anyone with an iPhone or iPod Touch.

I had issues with my iphone when i jailbreaked it back in 1.14 land. None of the apps worked properly and would crash all the time. So I went back...
Now with 2.1 the Iphone is running so smoothly that I don't want to fuck with it. I don't know how jailbreaked phones work now but I'm willing to try it out if I can get two things... an instant messenger client that stays connected in the background and push technology that sends me a message every time I get an IM.

It's actually just Quake. But it's still frickin' sweet.
JailBreaking is very easy and pretty damn safe for your phone these days. The software that does it is very intuitive now. And if you're not satisfied with it, you can always go back to the original firmware.

Can someone actually explain to me in detailed fashion how you got an NES app? And how you can change the image that each app shows? (The maps for example)

The first part of your question has already been answered - you need to jailbreak your phone and install Cydia. The latter part of the question can be found HERE.
