Zits... do you pop em?

This is a serious question!

I'm 33, and still every now and then I get acne. It doesn't bother me so much unless I get it on my face. Which I currently have.

So now I'm not sure what to do. Is it better to pop this giant pustule on my forehead? Or leave it alone?

On one hand, if I pop it, I get a nasty scab which will look even worse for a couple days. On the other hand, it seems to me they heal faster if you pop em.

So what do I do??!?!

I just leave them alone for the most part. My wife always tries to pop them for me. I have to keep her away from me because I think it's the nastiest thing ever.

There's something quite satisfying about feeling the give of a whitehead as it pops. I can even imagine that I hear the soft *sploosh* before it gives way to the tiny flow of blood and pus.

yeah, this isn't a whitehead, though, it's like a giant bubble on my forehead filled with puss. I think I'm gonna have to pop it. Otherwise, where will all that puss go?

I ALWAYS pop mine. I don't get pimples very often, especially not on my face. Usually just in this one spot on my upper-arm, but always pop 'em. Usually I do so until the pus comes out, followed by a little bit of blood. Then, I wash it with soap. I do this if they are apparent or just beginning. It is painful at times, but I have NEVER gotten a scar or so much as a scab from doing this. Sorry for the graphic description, but it was necessary to explain in full.

I had a big one in my ear a month or so ago that I could hear when it popped. It was better than some sex I've had. Luckily I don't get them often because I would have scars all over from popping them. It's a sick addiction.

I've heard that popping a zit could actually lead to more zits because of the crap that comes out of it.

Not if you wash your skin after you pop it and wash out the area that was popped.

I tend to pop mine but I try to avoid touching them and thinking about them. Never thought I'd be having pimples into my 40's.

i have had mild to moderate body acne over the last year or so, from going to the gym and not showering qiuckly enough, etc..

The thing that has cleared up my acne better than anything in the entire world is Head and Shoulders shampoo (using it as a body wash). I lather it on and let it sit there for 6 minutes int he shower.

Sounds crazy? Its the zinc in the shampoo, the main active ingredient. Zinc is extremly effective as an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent.

My skin went from looking like I got hit with a shotgun blast to smooth, flawless and even toned.

When I was a teen, I popped what turned out to be a cyst. Your vision goes black for a second and then you see the debris of puss and blood on the mirror. Good times.

Just take a steak knife or a paintball gun to it.

I've gotten zits in my ears, they can be difficult to get to.

I once had two whitehead zits in the middle of my chest (!?). I popped #1 and got a relatively large flow of blood and pus. Then I tried to pop #2, but the pressure caused more blood & pus to spurt out of #1 again. Weird.

Being in my 30s, I get about 2 zits a year - but it's a cause for celebration when I do, because I just love popping the fuckers!

I lead an empty life...
