'Tis the season for Photoshop help
Hey folks, I've turned to this forum for help with my annual Christmas CD in the past and you haven't disappointed. I need help again this year. So, I have the following image...
![]() ...and I'd like the woman's sign to read "2007" (no quotation marks). Or, if you can make it look good, you can have it read "A Very Micah Christmas 2007" (again, no quotation marks; regarding the title, don't ask). I think that might be too much text for such a small area, though, as the original image will be shrunk down to be the cover of the CD. I think black, navy, green or red would look nice for the added text, but I can defer that decision to those more artistically inclined (same with the font). Whoever that created the submission that I pick will get a copy of the CD, if he/she wants it (with postage, that's an approximately $1.75 value!). As for a deadline, I'd like to get these out in within the next few days. I reserve the right not to declare a winner if I find a better image for the cover in the meantime. ![]() Thanks for your help. One of these days I'm just going to have to get a decent graphics program and learn how to use it (attempts in MS Paint were less than successful).

I don't think that photo is in the proper aspect ratio for a CD cover. Or is this a widescreen CD?

No, it's not the correct aspect ratio. I'll just shrink it down and have some white space around it. I always include a line of text at the bottom (something to the effect of "yada yada yada since 2008"). It'll have enough room for that.
crazyronin - Looks good. Also, thanks for pointing out my mistype (which I have since edited). I like how you included both. I didn't even think about doing that. If you could get rid of the 2008 (and not replace it with a 2007), that'd look really nice.

Nice. Just out of curiosity, what font is that?

I'd rather not announce my extracurricular activities to the kith and kin on my Christmas CD list, but thanks for the new desktop wallpaper!

Seeing as how I want to start printing off the CD artwork tonight, the contest is closed and I must pick a winner. And that winner is...DeadLamb. I didn't think it was possible to put all of the text in that little space, shrink down the picture to the size of a CD booklet, and have it look good. But he proved me wrong.
But I really am torn between his entry and crazyronin's, so I reserve the right to change my mind right before printing these off. I'm in the Christmas mood, so allow me to play Santa Oprah... You get a CD! (DeadLamb) You get a CD! (crazyronin) You get a CD! (Mordred) I've sent an e-mail to each of you. Thanks again for the help.

Guess no one wanted the CD.
Anyway, for whoever is interested, I've put it online: http://jmblya.blogspot.com/2007/12/d...hightunes.html

Weird. I'll still send one to you, if you want it (obviously, it won't get to you in time for Christmas).

Quote:
To the level of "Inbox (10717)". but I'm happy to just d/l the music or just see the list of what ended up on the cd.. no big deal.. So thank for the link the blog site. glad ya liked the txt work up. The font is ParkAvenue BT and the main trick for stuffing txt into a pic to try different font and then match/add grain to the txt layer. So it does not look like it's new..
