Does anyone actually follow the Shampoo instructions?

I think most people are familiar with the standard Wash. Rinse. Repeat shampooing instructions. Who "Repeats"?.....Did I miss something the first time?

This has annoyed me for years.........

I follow these instructions to the letter. In fact, I'm typing this from my shower. When does the cycle ever end? I've got other things to do.

I don't use shampoo.. too many sulfates for my curly hair. I wash my scalp w/ conditioner rinse and then condition w/ conditioner only.. so to answer your question, I do wash and repeat.. but not with shampoo.

The "repeat" helps sell shampoo faster.

I only repeat when it's obvious my hair is still not entirely clean. I can usually tell by the way the shampoo lathers (or doesn't) the first go around.

I do the same thing. This usually happens when I've been working outside in the sun or playing basketball or something and you get really sweaty and dirty. Sometimes the shampoo doesn't lather up all that well and you need to give it another go.

Giles I don't know if you were joking or not but I do leave conditioner in my hair for a few minutes

it's funny because when I get my hair cut the whole shampoo and conditioning process takes them about 30 seconds tops. Maybe they know something I don't know.

They do. Most so-called conditioners are really just cream rinses. A conditioner needs to be left on the hair for a few minutes in order to work. Anything that can be rinsed off right away is only meant to ease the comb-through after the shampoo.

actually I wasn't making a joke, and come to think of it, I had never thought of the hair cut: shampoo/conditioning process.... hmmm...

I suppose I do without consciously thinking about it. I put shampoo in my hair, scrub it around and then rinse it out. I then put conditioner in my hair, soap up while it soaks in, then I wash myself off. That's about the extent of my "following directions".

No, why would I want to wash clean hair?

Unless they are implying that their product does not work very well, hence the use twice instruction.

I tried to follow the instructions, but got caught in an endless repeat loop and had to be pulled out of the shower by an emergency team.

I would recommend using the travel size shampoo bottles. With those, you are unable to repeat way before any emergency service is required.
