Awkward Social Moments - Do you TRY to create them

Mostly I created this thread to share a story about a friend of mine who went to A-kon a couple weeks back. Here it is:

While we were at A-Kon at one point Ben, Kevin, Joey and I were riding in the elevator and there was like one other dude and 3 chicks in there. I think they might have been kinda young, but that isnt the point. One of them started to say something about ben's tattoos being cool, but then said never mind cause he had Trogdor tatted on him. Well Ben and myself got into an argument with them about how Trogdor is cool then I just look straight forward at the door for the duration of the ride and I say "Yall dont know anything, but then again all I know is Ball and Good... and RAPE!" I didnt even bother looking for a response cause it sells the joke better. I thought maybe they would know the reference from Aqua teen, but nay. Kevin on the other hand was watching them and he just saw them all back up in the corners and went back to the wall in fear.

Any funny stories from you guys on the creation of awkward social moments?

Would it be awkward for me to admit that I didn't understand any of that?

I think it may be awkward, but I must inform you, this missed the funny by about 20 miles.

Sometimes I like to corner a bunch of young girls in a situation where they're outnumbered 5:3, then shout something about rape. But only when I'm in a really strange mood and I'm positive my friends have adequate money for bail.

I'm too lazy to search. Who or what is Trogdor? and is it, in fact, cool? My guess is not.

And I'm baffled that a couple of young girls didn't get an Aqua Teen Hunger Force reference!

I'm pretty sure that threatening minors with rape isn't "awkward", it's probably a felony.

I looked it up and I'm guessing it's very cool...

Exactly what I was thinking. They're going to regret that in a few years. I put considerably more thought into my "All Your Base..." tattoo.

In college some friends and I were walking back from the bars at night and we were behind a group of girls, all of us walking in the same direction. We were talking to each other, they were not talking, and it seemed like they were listening to our conversation. Somehow we got on the topic of "offing" someone. When the conversation turned to how all the authorities could find was his thumb I replied loudly, "Again?!" The girls seemed to pick up their pace after that and pretty much ran ahead of us.

And this is why people thought Jerry and George were gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

When we were like 15 years old and up there on Hollywood Boulevard (way back in the early 70's, when it was a very different & friendlier place), my friend and I would wait until we were like in the middle of the Blvd. (half way between Gower & La Brea) and one of us would yell, "HEY!!!" as loud as we possibly could, and EVERYONE (and I mean, 'Every-One"), ON THE STREET (including us) would turn around! Even people across the street (for blocks, literally in either direction), and in cars, and even some folks would stick their heads out windows of buildings!!!

OH, MAN! Now That was really FUN-NEE, I gotta tell ya!!!
