Do you eat ice?
I find it very annoying when people are drinking something with ice in it and they (a) put ice in their mouth and suck on it and spit back, or (b) put ice in and start chomping on it.
It's especially annoying when the have the fast food cup and remove the lid and do it. Last edited by Lee Harvey Oswald; 02-22-07 at 09:15 PM. |

Absolutely. Especially the fast food cup deal. Habitual by now.

I don't normally eat ice, but I've occasionally stuck one in my mouth until it melts.

Sometimes I let it melt and sometimes I chew it. I never spit it back. That's inhuman.

Yes, I crunch it. It's bad for you. I tried to stop, but it's habit.

The desire to eat ice can be a symptom of anemia.

yes.
The few hours of sleep i get i eat it during that time, just plain ice from the refridge, ice maker. Being that i watch all the primetime shows while im in bed and i record them all and watch them starting at 3:00am i need some form of water to keep myself hydrated. I live weird hours (not weird to me). I like coffee better, but i drink it when i wake up, not before i go to sleep or watch tv in the bedroom. |

Next to biting my fingernails, chewing ice is my favorite thing. No calories - sometimes you just want something to do when you're watching TV, and ice fills the bill.
Considering ice is water, and water has flouride, I can't see how it can be bad for you. In fact, I venture to say that I believe it has made my teeth stronger.

I think if I stopped chewing ice at this juncture of my life, all my teeth will rot and fall out.
I'm 37 years old, I never go to the dentist, I have ALL my teeth, and I don't have any pain. I attribute that to ice chewing.

I always thought that chewing ice was a sign of sexual frustration. I know my ice chewing habit dissappeared once I dealt with that.

Ha, I'm doing it right now. It's very satisfying for some reason.

When I was a kid, I'd eat a bowl of crushed ice just about every night before bedtime. True story. I no longer do that, however, and really only eat ice when my glass is empty.
